Details on the deal have already hit the Internet.

The hip-hop mogul announced that he partnered with the baseball team to throw his logo on their famed cap, along with an assortment of their clothing items including t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts. The gear will go on sale next week, exclusively at Yankee Stadium, and will only be available until September 14. The partnership is in honor of Jay’s upcoming concert dates at the Bronx Bombers headquarters on September 13 and 14 with Eminem. As previously reported, Hov and Em will be headlining four dates with Slim Shady for their Home and Home tour next month. The other two concerts will take place at Detroit’s Comerica Park on September 3 and 4. (XXL Mag)

In addition to rocking Yankee fitted hats, Jay has also publicly admired the 27-time championship team on his records.

Jay-Z is a devout Yankee fan, no question. Check the lyrics from “Empire State of Mind” (“I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can”), “Do It Again” (“Who could it be? With that new blue Yankee on, who but me?”), or “Put On (Remix)” (“So when I’m dead and gone, I got one last wish, put my Yankee hat on”). For years the Brooklyn native has traveled to the Bronx to check out his beloved team at Yankee stadium, so it comes as no surprise that the house he’s often frequented would return the love by selling merchandise bearing his name. Last year, Jay performed “Empire State of Mind” during the World Series at Yankee Stadium.

“The moment at Yankee stadium for me, as a kid growing up in Brooklyn, I’m still high off of that,” Jay explained in an interview. “But right after that, we got a police escort right to the airport and took a plane straight out…I felt like a kid, the field is beautiful, I never been that close to the field, walking around. I jumped over the center field fence like I was catching a homerun…” (“Mike & Mike In The Morning”)

After the Yankees’ World Series win, Jay joined the team’s slugger Alex Rodriguez during their New York City parade in November.

Crowds roared and church bells rang in lower Manhattan on Friday as the Yankees’ World Series championship celebration revved up with a ticker-tape parade. As the players on floats made their way through Wall Street toward City Hall Plaza, a loud roar rose above Broadway and confetti rained down on the parade. Revelers arrived early Friday to get a good spot along the route though many were forced to pack surrounding streets. Governor David Paterson and rapper Jay-Z were among those in the parade. After the players arrive at City Hall Plaza, Mayor Michael Bloomberg will give them the keys to the city. (Associated Press)
