Jay Z Relies On Timbo, Queen Bey For “Magna Carta” Next Single

Roc Nation head Jay Z is far from finished with the promotion behind his Magna Carta Holy Grail solo album as reports claim he is going to snatch up Beyoncé Knowles-Carter for the next single.

If all goes accordingly, fans will hear Young Hov’s “Part II (On the Run)” pick up momentum in the coming weeks.

After scoring a huge Billboard hit with ‘Holy Grail’ featuring Justin Timberlake and then topping the Urban charts with ‘Tom Ford’, Jay Z is ready to unleash the next single from his double platinum album Magna Carta Holy Grail. ‘Part II (On the Run)’ featuring his wife Beyonce and produced by Timbaland & J-Roc will serve as the new single from the album, due to impact radio in January. There is also a rumor that a video for the smooth tune (probably my favorite from the LP) has been shot already. (HHNM)

Coincidentally, Jay’s producer sidekick Timbaland teased fans with footage of their “Bounce” track this week.

Tim isn’t leaving us hanging with the pseudo-feature from JAY Z on his first leak, “Know Bout Me.” The producer brings us inside the studio and gives us the first listen of his JAY Z-featured “Bounce” from his upcoming album, Textbook Timbo which he previewed at a Belgium nightclub nearly a month ago. Over the summer, rap executive 50 Cent offered a take on Jay’s chart-topping release.

“You can’t be afraid of change. I think the old way of doing things is not gonna work, but then you gotta create a plan for a new way. How are you gonna do it?” The RIAA changed their rules and says they will immediately count those sales toward the album’s platinum certification, while it will appear that Billboard will not count those “bulk” Samsung sales toward their albums chart — meaning that if Jay is to eventually earn a #1 spot for MCHG he can’t do it off the back of those first 1 million sales. Fif, who has built a reputation as a shrewd business man and successful mogul himself, doesn’t side with Jay or Billboard, but suggests that the main thing that matters is the financial gain behind the deal. “I don’t think you can take anything away from it — that idea,” he said. “If you can take something away from it, the money was still made.” (MTV)

Timbaland previously crowned the LP Jay’s best work to date.

“This is the best Jay-Z album thus far… I told [Jay-Z], all The Blueprint albums, those were good, but this is your first big album for the new millennium,” Tim said in a video. “This is hip-hop at its finest — it’s gonna change hip-hop. Y’all gonna get in your car and be like, ‘This is a good a** album.'” (Revolt TV)
