Music mogul JAY-Z is particular AF when it comes to his new albums. The hip-hop veteran has explained his disinterest in letting the entertainment industry world hear his new tunes.

A new clip has gone viral of JAY pulling up to Roc Nation protégé Vic Mensa‘s album listening party and revealing his personal pet peeve.

“No I.D., of course, executive produced this album. Vic is a very special guy – we just want to ask one thing, I know at the industry event, don’t do that industry sh*t where you listen to the albums like this [motionless]. I hate that sh*t. I don’t even play my album for industry people. I hate that sh*t. If you like the album, of course you’ll like the album, a song, groove to it, have a good time, that’s what we’re here for.”

Recently, rap veteran Busta Rhymes and NBA champion Matt Barnes co-signed JAY’s new 4:44 album.

Heading into last weekend, 4:44‘s initial sales projections surfaced.

After mounted anticipation, JAY’s 4:44 finally arrived this week on major retail outlets like iTunes and Amazon.

Both Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited announced tonight they would be streaming the album beginning at midnight on 7/7. The music video for “The Story of O.J.” is also available on both services, as well as on YouTube. Universal Music confirmed that physical copies of the 4:44 album would include three additional bonus tracks, “Adnis,” “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” and “ManyFacedGod,” which reportedly features U.K. R&B singer James Blake. CDs will be available via Amazon beginning 7/7. (HITS Daily Double)
