Rap mogul Jay Z is living up to his own lyrics after being spotted donning a Tom Ford jersey scattered with multiple references to his Magna Carta Holy Grail standout track.
According to reports, Young Hov has been spotted donning the flashy jersey on his current Magna Carta Holy Grail tour.
The tour that’s been making news of late is the “Yeezus Tour,” what with all of Kanye West‘s wild theatrics and rants visionary streams of consciousness. But Jay Z has been rocking out on the “Magna Carta World Tour,” and photographer Lenny S., aka Kodak Lens, captured a clever stage outfit reminiscent of Les Plus Dorés’ offerings. Hov took “I don’t pop Molly/I rock Tom Ford” quite literally, putting the designer on his back along with Ford’s birth year of ’61. The shirt also has
“MOLLY”on the back, completing the lyrics from “Tom Ford.” And while the designer is creating a 600 piece collection for Justin Timberlake‘s “20/20 World Experience Tour,” no word yet if Tom Ford is getting in the T-shirt game with Jay Z. (Complex)
The “Tom Ford” record has sparked widespread attention since Jay’s album dropped in July.
After scoring a huge Billboard hit with ‘Holy Grail’ featuring Justin Timberlake and then topping the Urban charts with ‘Tom Ford’, Jay Z is ready to unleash the next single from his double platinum album Magna Carta Holy Grail. ‘Part II (On the Run)’ featuring his wife Beyonce and produced by Timbaland & J-Roc will serve as the new single from the album, due to impact radio in January. There is also a rumor that a video for the smooth tune (probably my favorite from the LP) has been shot already. (HHNM)
During a summer Q&A Twitter session, Jigga entertained a comment about a follow-up to his “Tom Ford” single.
One fan tweeted his theory that Memphis Bleek is running Jay-Z’s account at the moment, to which said account responded, “you ARE worthy.” Since Jigga wrote a song about clothing designer Tom Ford, another Twitter user asked whether he should write a song about Hanes, his shirt-slinger of choice. “YES. *my laugh,” wrote Jay. He also told one follower, “Jesus loves you…and Hova and Yesus.” Pretty sure he meant Yeezus. (SPIN)

Tim isn’t leaving us hanging with the pseudo-feature from JAY Z on his first leak, “Know Bout Me.” The producer brings us inside the studio and gives us the first listen of his JAY Z-featured “Bounce” from his upcoming album, Textbook Timbo which he previewed at a Belgium nightclub nearly a month ago.
