Music stars Jay Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean and producer Mike Dean have reportedly been singled out in a new $3 million lawsuit over their 2011 anthem, "Made In America."
According to reports, New York musician Joel McDonald has taken action against the high-profile entertainers for allegedly jacking his 2009 track.
Joel McDonald, a Brooklyn musician, said he wrote the song and published it in 2009 on iTunes, but the high profile performers took credit for the song in 2011 when they released a joint album called “Watch the Throne.” In papers filed last month in Manhattan Supreme Court, McDonald is demanding $3 million in damages for what he calls copyright infringement.
