Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z may be one of the biggest stars in hip-hop these days, however, Young Hov admits Blue Ivy Carter is winning over his attention more than music.
With Watch the Throne sales still piling up, Hov is most focused on his fatherhood duties for the time being.
Shawn ” Jay-Z” Carter may be headlining and curating a two-day music festival, “Budweiser Made In America,” this Labor Day in Philadelphia — but don’t expect any new music from the rap mogul and father of four-month-old Blue Ivy Carter any time soon. “I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter,” Jay-Z told Billboard from the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum on Monday. “I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.” (Billboard)
Earlier this month, Jay envisioned his daughter growing into her teenage years.
“I imagine I’ll take things I learned from my mom and things I’ve learned from raising my nephews and apply that,” the rapper said in an interview for Oprah’s Master Class: Special Edition. “Then at the end of the day, I just know I’ll probably have the worst-spoiled little kid ever,” he admitted. Jay-Z went on to say that even if he does spoil Blue Ivy, she will probably resent him once she is a teenager. “Everyone imagines they’ll be a great dad until their [kids are] teenagers,” he said. “[Then they say], ‘Get away from me, dad. You’re embarrassing me’.” (Digital Spy)
A few days prior, Jay’s wife Beyonce Knowles-Carter addressed fake pregnancy reports which surrounded them.
But even PEOPLE’s 2012 Most Beautiful Woman was caught off guard when, while pregnant with her first child, whispers started swirling that she and husband Jay-Z had settled on a surrogate to carry their daughter. “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” the songstress, 30, tells PEOPLE. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?'” But perhaps the person most affected by the surrogacy speculation was not the expectant mom herself, but rather her own mother, Tina Knowles. “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” she says. “As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.” (People)
Around mid-February, Jay and Bey unveiled their newborn baby’s photos.
Rapper Jay-Z and wife Beyonce unveiled highly-anticipated pictures of their new baby daughter Blue Ivy Carter on Friday, opting to post intimate family shots on social networking site Tumblr rather than selling them to the highest bidder. The couple posted five photos which show the newborn, already sporting a head of long black hair, being cuddled by her proud parents and capturing intimate moments of family life. (Reuters)
