Hip-Hop married couple Jay-Z and Beyonce will face-off in three categories at this year's BET Awards ceremony.

Jay and Beyonce are also going to face competition from B.o.B. and Melanie Fiona.

Rapper Jay-Z and his wife, Beyonce, will compete in three categories at the 2010 BET Awards. They’re both nominated for video of the year, best collaboration and viewers’ choice. Jay-Z received two nominations in the video of the year category, which includes newcomers B.o.B and Melanie Fiona. Jay-Z is the top contender with five nominations; he’s also up for best male hip-hop artist. Beyonce, Fiona and Alicia Keys, who follow with four nods each, are all up for best R&B female artist. R&B crooner Trey Songz also received four nominations. (ABC News)

Both artists lead the pack of nominees which also includes Drake, Rihanna, Fabolous and more.

Lil Wayne‘s protégés did well too, with Drake picking up three nominations, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Nicki Minaj scoring two nods and Young Money as a collective earning three nominations, including as the only crew up for Best New Artist. Rihanna, Fabolous, B.o.B, Monica, and Maxwell round out the multiple nominees with two nominations apiece. (MTV)

Nominees were formally announced on Tuesday (May 18) in New York City.

The nominations were announced today by Queen Latifah, Diddy, Dirty Money and Stephen Hill, BET’s president of music programming & specials, at the Rooftop Garden in New York City. Produced in association with Cossette Productions, the BET Awards recognize the achievements of artists, actors and athletes in 19 categories, including the Viewer’s Choice award and the Centric Award. Beyonce, Lil Wayne and T.I. all walked away with awards last year.

Beyonce won Video of the Year for “Single Ladies” and Best Female R&B Artist, Ne-Yo won Best Male R&B Artist, Lil Wayne snagged Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Day26 won Best Group, Keri Hilson walked away with Best New Artist as T.I. and Rihanna won Viewer’s Choice for “Live Your Life.” Additional winners included Jamie Foxx and T-Pain‘s “Blame It” securing Best Collaboration, Taraji P. Henson winning Best Actress and LeBron James landing Male Athlete of the Year. (BET Awards 2009)

The annual ceremony is set to kick-off Sunday, June 27th from Los Angeles, California.
