Hip-Hop couple Jay-Z and Beyonce have reportedly been tagged to attend the upcoming 2009 BET Awards later this month in California.
While Jay has not yet been confirmed to perform, Beyonce will also be hitting the stage for a performance.
US singer Beyonce is to perform at this year’s Black Entertainment TV (BET) awards, it has been announced. The singer has five nods, including one for best female R&B artist and two in the video of the year category for “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies.” Organisers also confirmed the 27 year-old would be attending the ceremony with her husband, rapper Jay-Z. Eminem is also rumored to perform at the event.
The controversial rapper will appear for the second time, insiders tell Rap-Up.com. An official announcement could come as soon as tomorrow when Em stops by “106 & Park.” Kanye West, Soulja Boy Tell’em, Ne-Yo and Maxwell have been announced as performers for the event which will be hosted by Jamie Foxx. The showcase will also be highlighted by star-studded nominees.
Beyonce and T.I. are tied with five nominations each with Beyonce in the running for the Best Female R&B Artist and Video of The Year. T.I. is vying for Best Collaboration while Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Keri Hilson follow close behind with four nominations a piece. Among the other multiple nominees are Kanye West, Keyshia Cole, Jamie Foxx, Rihanna, M.I.A, Day 26, Common, The Dream, Trina, Lil Mama, Angela Bassett, Idris Elba, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Cheryl Ford, Candace Parker, Tamika Catchings, Benny Boom, Gil Green, Chris Robinson and Hype Williams.
