Along with Mr. and Mrs. Carter, fellow Grammy winners like Taylor Swift demanded attention Monday evening.

Some of the biggest names in fashion and the entertainment industry donned their best formal attire, including sweeping ball gowns and the white-tie-and-tails ensembles men were told to wear, at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday night. Billboard can confirm a who’s who of musicians were in the house. Taylor Swift, Jay Z & Beyonce, Janelle Monae, Florence Welch and Frank Ocean were among those who walked the red carpet. Kanye West partnered up with Kim Kardashian, as did Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her husband, the former England soccer captain David. (Billboard)

Ocean did, however, manage to perform a few tracks at the annual celebrity-driven gathering.

Last night, he finally emerged from behind the boards, performing at this year’s star-studded Met Gala in New York City. While he failed to preview any new material, he did offer up dazzling renditions of “Super Rich Kids” and “Wisman”, accompanied by a 31-piece all-female orchestra. (Consequence of Sound)

Reports last week revealed Ocean would perform at the event.

Who knew Wintour is such a fan of hip-hop? Last year, Kanye West was tapped to perform at the Met Gala, right before the rapper released his epic “Yeezus” album. This year, sources say the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Frank Ocean will perform at the fashionable fête. This won’t be the first trip to the ball for Ocean. Last year, it was rumored the openly gay alterna-rapper went home with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci post-Gala after the two posted a series of cozy late-night pics to Instagram. Last March, reports revealed Frank’s long-awaited follow-up to channel ORANGE was finally forming.

Since deleting his Twitter and Instagram accounts, the reclusive singer has shared little about the follow-up to his 2012 Grammy-winning album channel ORANGE. But in the late hours of Monday, he posted a photo of himself on Tumblr, reassuring fans that a new album is on the way. Photographer Nabil snapped the Odd Future crooner seated in the studio with his back facing the camera. “Frank in the lab.. Making sophomore album game,” said Nabil. (Rap-Up)
