Music mogul Jay-Z is taking his talent across the sea by venturing into a restaurant with English soccer star Ashley Cole in the United Kingdom.
While specific details are not yet available, the pair are aiming to provide opportunities to employ the youth.
The pair, who have reportedly become bosom buddies, are planning to launch a restaurant in London which will aim to give jobs to young people who are from disadvantaged backgrounds. Speaking about his new partnership with the rapper, the BBC reports Ashley saying: “I don’t do things to try and get publicity or anything like that. (Entertainment Wise)
Not only a business partner, Cole is also a fan of Young Hov’s music.
“It was a great way for me to be working with people like Jay-Z and with great entrepreneurs who are going to try and make this restaurant a success.” The pair were brought together by NVA Entertainment, a sports agency which counts Rio Ferdinand among its clients. “I’ve always loved Jay-Z’s music and loved what he’s done,” Cole said. Earlier this year, Jay-Z invested in a Brooklyn, New York chicken restaurant.
TMZ has learned Jay-Z — along with his mother Gloria and sister Andrea — secretly invested in a buffalo wing joint in Brooklyn called Buffalo Boss. It’s not just because wings are delicious — Jay’s first cousin Jamar White is one of the owners. The joint is already making a positive impact in the community — recently rewarding outstanding students at a local middle school with FREE FOOD! How awesome is that?! (TMZ)
In late 2010, it was announced Jay-Z’s popular 40/40 Club sports bar franchise expanded into select nationwide airports.
In the first phase of the agreement, Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, a global leader in hospitality and food service, will give travelers access to the elite, modern sports bar to watch the game of their choice in an opulent lounge setting, all without leaving the airport. The division of Delaware North Companies operates dozens of national and regional brand restaurants and shops at more than 20 major U.S. airports. (Market Wire)
