Jay Rock Confronts Ice Cube Over Blog Diss, “Stop Being Scared To Call A N*gga Out”

West Coast rapper Jay Rock has confronted Ice Cube over a recent blog posting he wrote citing the surge of “local emcees” disrespecting his legacy.

Writing via Twitter, Rock explained his issues with Cube’s Tuesday (March 16) posting.

“WATTS UP WIT ICE CUBE TALKIN KRAZY ABOUT NEW WEST N*GGAS.IF HE GOT A PROB WIT 1 OF US HE SHUD SAY R NAME N STOP BN SCARED 2 CALL A N*GGA OUT,” Rock wrote Wednesday night. “What’s up with these local MC’s in L.A. who keep disrespecting me? Earlier this week, Cube shared his feelings on the new West Coast rappers.

“What’s up with these local MC’s in L.A. who keep disrespecting me? They’re just mad cause I don’t f*ck with they wack-a**,” he wrote. “They ain’t on my level, why should I waste my time. I don’t even remember ever meeting these clowns or even being in the same room with any of ‘em. They can’t make a name for themselves so they need help from the O/G’s. I refuse the throw’em a life line. F*ck’em. It ain’t my job to make nobody famous. And for the record, I ain’t scared of no n*gga. Especially, no rappers….seriously people.” (Ice Cube’s Blog)

The rapper is currently putting together a new album called I Am The West.

“”It’s a f*ckin’ banger,” Cube wrote in a blog posting. “This one might be too West Coast for the West Coast. It’s getting mastered as we speak. You’ll be able to hear it and buy it first right here on icecube.com. We shoot the video on the 17th. I would give you guys the concept but I’mma save that and let you see it for yourself. Now I know it seems like my record is West Coast crazy.” (Ice Cube’s Blog)

The project marks Cube’s latest since 2008’s Raw Footage.

Three years later he revived his barely used Lench Mobb label for his solo comeback album, Laugh Now, Cry Later. In the Movies, a compilation of soundtrack cuts, was put together for a 2007 release. A year later he returned with Raw Footage, an album filled with Cube’s observations on politics along with the single “I Got My Locs On” featuring special guest Young Jeezy. (All Music)
