Jadakiss & Styles P. Speak On Jailed DMX, “Police In There Leave Him Alone”

The Lox‘s Jadakiss and Styles P recently spoke on the incarceration of DMX, their former Ruff Ryder associate, showing there is no bad blood between them.

The duo were recently in Arizona, where X is currently locked up, attending the NBA All-Star weekend fesitivities.

“I might just stay here an extra day and go visit the dawg,” Jada said in an interview referring to X. “Put some money on his books…I can visit him, man….That’s my big homie right there.” “You know I can’t visit,” Styles joking said. “I love you dawg, but he know, I can’t do it…Police in there and everybody, leave him alone. He’s just a man at the end of the day like everybody else. If he’s a rapper, that’s just his job. Just treat him like every other man. It’s all love.” (101.5 Jamz)

X was placed in Arizona Tent City Jail’s lockdown after reportedly making verbal threats to corrections officers last week.

He was moved from Tent City to a solitary cell, where he will spend 23 hours a day, following a verbal altercation with Maricopa County Sheriff’s detention officers on Sunday (February 8). The rapper will likely remain for the next month, said Lt. Brian Lee, a sheriff’s spokesman. DMX was serving his 90-day sentence with more than 2,000 other inmates in Tent City until Sunday, when he refused to report for his designated job in the jail. (AZ Central)

The rapper has been required to serve 90 days in jail on Arizona drug and animal cruelty charges.

Commissioner Phemonia Miller sentenced the rapper, whose name is Earl Simmons to 90 days in jail on January 30 with no credit for time he has already served. (ABC News)

Prior to falling out with Ruff Ryder artists like Drag-on and Swizz Beatz, X was a vital component of the rap label’s success.

The Ruff Ryders posse — of which DMX was a core, founding member — released a showcase compilation, Ryde or Die, Vol. 1. With contributions from DMX, as well as Eve, the LOX, and multiple guests, Ryde or Die, Vol. 1 debuted at number one in the spring of 1999, further cementing DMX’s Midas touch. (All Music)
