New York rapper Ja Rule recently shared his two cents on the continued war of words between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj saying a possible truce could still be made.

Rule also considered why hip-hop appears to be the only genre where artists go for each other’s necks.

“I think it’s terrible, man,” Rule said in an interview. “I like Nicki, I know Kim. It’s f*cked up that artists in hip-hop go through that sh*t, because artists in pop and R&B and other genres [they] don’t go through that sh*t…[Kenny Chesney vs. Garth Brooks,] you don’t get that sh*t. You don’t have to disrespect another artist’s creativity — to better yourself or get ahead as an artist. I think Nicki and Kim, they can resolve that.” (the LIFE Files)

Last summer, Grammy-winnng rapper Ludacris suggested Kim and Minaj do a collaboration together to kill their publicized beef.

“I think if Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj do a record together it’s gonna kill the entire industry,” Luda said in an interview. “You don’t have that many women in the industry so the lane is wide open…The fact that we have females out there that’s going back and forth — and I’m not saying it’s either one’s fault — I feel like y’all need to come together and squash all this bulls– and make records together…Because [there’s] a lot of women that wanna hear what the h*ll y’all got to say.” (MTV)

Renowned producer DJ Scratch recently hit up SOHH to share his thoughts on the war of words.

“I don’t know, I think it’s actually some female stuff,” Scratch told SOHH about the rap beefs with Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj and Foxy Brown. “[laughs] I think it’s a shame that they’re beefing like that. I wish I could get into contact with Lil Kim. I called her a couple of times but she didn’t answer the phone but I would really want to talk to Lil Kim and tell her to just chill. Take that girl under her wing because come on, we all know that Nicki Minaj’s whole style comes from Lil Kim. We all know that. That goes without saying. She’s paying homage to Lil Kim but you know, it’s a territorial thing. It’s a woman thing. It’s more of a woman thing than hip-hop. You know what I’m saying? I don’t like it, I’m actually ashamed of it because Lil Kim should know better, Foxy [Brown] should definitely know better, and Nicki Minaj, somebody just needs to fall back and be like, ‘All right, I’m sorry. Let’s just get it going for the sake of hip-hop,’ because there are no women in hip-hop. It shouldn’t just be one woman in hip-hop right now. And when it carries on like that, it makes labels go, ‘See, that’s why there’s no female rappers because of that.” (SOHH)

Last month, Minaj dropped her anti-Kim record snippet, “Tragedy.”

“Eh yo, Pink Friday, Eminem, 8 Mile,” Nicki raps, “It must hurt to sell your album off PayPal/Especially when you’re in the game, 15-20/You was hot when Shaq teamed up with Penny/Man, you was ‘Magic’, I mean/Look at you now, h*e, you’re just tragic/You a tragedy, you a parody/Last name Ann, first name Raggedy/These goofy b*tches is stupidity personified…” (“Tragedy”)
