If all goes accordingly, Rule fans can get their hands on the LP around late January.
With a recent leak of one of the tracks “Never Had Time” taken from the new album, it sounds like we might be getting a timid version of the man. But we’ll see. Featuring Leah Siegal and Kalenna Harper from Diddy-Dirty Money, the full album drops on January 24th. (Soul Culture)
Still over a month away, tracks from the album have leaked online including the new “Never Had Time” record.
When Ja Rule isn’t writing somewhat-awkward letters from prison, he’s on the phone with go-to producer 7 Aurelius plotting the release of Pain Is Love 2. The album has obviously been delayed because of dude’s recent incarceration, but the word on the hip-hop Internet streets is that it might drop in January. While that’s interesting and all, I find it slightly more intriguing how Ja and Aurelius are doing their best to keep up with the current music trends. Yeah, it might not make for the best music, but Ja’s latest single, “Never Had the Time,” is the type of track that could easily weasel its way onto the radio. Is that a good thing? Hmm, maybe so, maybe no. (Prefix Mag)
Days prior to beginning a two-year jail sentence for a gun conviction, producer 7 Aurelius said the project needed more time and would not meet its June 7th release.
“The plan changed mostly because of the level and quality of the records we were making,” he explained in an interview. “We have exhausted every possible way to have it available on iTunes for pre-order on the 7th. The main issue is that Fontana needs the album turned in before they will release a date, or even start their process which is normally sixty days for digital and hard copy…Me and Rule have to capture all the magic around us until he goes in, otherwise we are doing an injustice to his fans…If we had stopped in April just to be able to turn it in to Fontana for a June 7 date, PIL2 would not be what it is now. They have acknowledged that because it’s Ja Rule, they will give it a fast track release once it is turned in and that would be digital and hard copy.” (Murder Inc Online)
Pain Is Love 2 is slated to hit stores Tuesday, January 24th.
