Grand Hustle affiliate Iggy Azalea has finally unloaded her emotions on splitting up with rumored ex-boyfriend A$AP Rocky and revealed why she never fully crossed out a finger tattoo in his honor.
While she admitted regretting publicly revealing her love for Rocky, she said there is nothing that would force her to change the past.
“I’ve never regretted it. I f*cking loved him. I know he loved me, too,” she said when asked about her finger tat. “I felt like he was somebody I could count on who loved me for being me, and I don’t want to forget that. I would sacrifice a quarter of a pinky for those memories. That’s why I didn’t cross it out all the way, because if I’d covered it up all the way, that says I’m embarrassed. You shouldn’t be ashamed of the trials of becoming an adult. I wanted people to know I’m free for more possible love interests, but also not ashamed.” (Complex)
Iggy also revealed how intense things initially were when they decided to call it quits.
“I definitely hated his guts and he hated my guts for a few months. [Laughs.] It was a legit “F*ck you!” “F*ck you!” peace out. But once you’ve had a few months to look at things in retrospect you realize maybe you don’t hate that person, you hate whatever caused the breakup, and you both failed in the relationship,” she added. “I don’t call him up and have conversations and I wouldn’t say Rocky is my friend, but there are times I’ve congratulated him on things he’s achieved and he occasionally congratulates me on sh*t that he’s proud of. We’re cordial and I respect him, but there’s a separation.” (Complex)
The Australian rapper hinted at why things fizzled out with A$AP last June.
“You know who the first was,” Iggy added, referring to A$AP being the first famous rapper she has dated. “Let’s be real, you’re not that stupid — we fell out because I’m young and he’s young and it’s a really difficult time. For me, I was going through a lot of stuff and his career was going great and mine was going a different way and we stopped hanging out. But we’re still cool, we’re still friends. … I have no ill feelings to A$AP. He’s cool and I’m really proud of him and his album going number one.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
Back in March, Iggy came forward to address coverage of her crossing out an A$AP tattoo.
“FYI. I’ve had that tattoo crossed out for MONTHS. Hop off my nuts. Your late and It shouldn’t be news anyhow.,” she tweeted March 2nd.
“That’s the kinda f*ckery blog sh*t that works my nerves.”
