“If You Know You’re Not A Baller & Can’t Spend Money All The Time, It’s Best To Keep It Real”

[In light of the upcoming Think Like a Man flick dropping this Friday, SOHH’s asking your favorite Hollywood stars and hip-hop celebrities for some relationship advice. Today, “Love & Hip Hop” cast member Erica Mena and 112’s Slim dish out their biggest dating tip.]

Erica Mena says…

If you’re going out on a date with a guy, you have to see if he’s willing to spend a little money. I think just by waiting out and just waiting to see how far a guy will really go to keep your attention is an exciting part about being with someone. Waiting to see just how far that guy is going to go for you is something that’s really exciting and sexy to me.

So the advice I would give the ladies is to hold out as long as you can. You want to be really sex and show him, “You want this, you need this but you can’t have this.” Yes, that’s the ticket right there.

I think when you’re in a relationship, as women, we get kind of comfortable. I would say try to stay away from being “always” available. I think in respect to a guy, you want to always have something going on. You want your identity to shine by staying on top of work. I think it’s cool for your guy to know he always has you but try to make sure you’re not always available for the him. Keeping yourself occupied with work will help you in the long run.

Slim says…

I’m going to tell all you young cats out there right off the bat what it is. For all the guys out there, always be you. Don’t act like somebody that you’re not.

The worst thing that can happen is the girl you are trying to impress and going for will fall in love with somebody that you’re not. If you know you’re not a baller, if you know you can’t spend money all the time, it’s best to keep it real.

A female is always going to expect that. So you may do a really good job in fooling on what’s going on but the problem is, you’ve got to keep that up. That might be a real nightmare at the end of the day.

I always like to tell people don’t be someone that you’re not. You have to always think long-term. If you think long-term, then things will escalate as time goes. Always be yourself. That’s something I would tell anyone.
