Details on his arrest were made public early Tuesday (July 20) morning.

Ice was allegedly driving on a suspended license, pulled over for driving without a seat belt and taken into custody. Ice tweeted a while ago that he and Coco were taking their dog to the vet. Spartacus was having knee surgery. We’re told Ice was processed at the 10th Precinct in Chelsea and released. (TMZ)

Additional reports suggests his insurance was not up-to-date when inspected by police.

Ice-T was arrested this morning in N.Y.C. for allegedly driving with a suspended license and not having up-to-date insurance, a police representative confirms to EW. The rapper-actor’s arrest was first reported by TMZ, which said he was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt; the NYPD declined to provide EW any further details on the circumstances of his arrest. He has yet to be charged. (Entertainment Weekly)

Earlier in the day, Ice-T tweeted that he had to take his dog to get an operation.

“Up early.. @cutespartacus has to get knee surgery today.. It’s a simple operation that common for bulldogs. Still sucks. Wish him luck…,” he tweeted. (Ice T’s Twitter)

Aside from a music career, Ice has spent over a decade building a name as a television actor.

In the summer of 1996, Ice-T released his first rap album since 1993, Return of the Real. The album was greeted by mixed reviews and it failed to live up to commercial expectations. 7th Deadly Sin followed in 1999. Ice-T then returned to acting, taking a role on NBC’s Law & Order : Special Victims Unit playing, ironically, a police officer. (All Music)

No further details have been revealed as of now.
