If things go the way he envisions, Drizzy sees fans crediting his music for inspiring their own lives.

“I want people to really feel like, ‘I knew Drake while he was on this Earth’. I know everything about him,” Drake said in an interview. “There were no secrets, there was nothing that he hid, no feelings that he concealed. I guess in five years, hopefully I have a couple more projects out that surpass Take Care, but I would like for them to say I remember that moment when I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen and Drake delivered an album that served a purpose in my life. That’s all I really ask for. Continuing forward with that mindset, I just wonder where it will take me.” (Google Music)

In just one week, Drake’s Take Care LP has sold over 600,000 copies.

Young Money star Drake’s Take Care debuted on the chart this week at No. 1, in front of Michael Buble‘s Christmas which sold 165,500 copies. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Drizzy’s new LP has sold 631,500 records in just a single week. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

A week prior, the Canadian-bred artist said he did not think Take Care could sell a million copies in seven days.

“That’s the golden number for anyone,” Drake said when asked if a million copies in his first week is what he is shooting for. “I doubt that’ll happen. That’s some Lil Wayne, Eminem iconic sh*t. I don’t know if I’m there yet. Whoever goes out and buys it, I’m happy. I’d rather have great reviews than numbers. I’d rather walk out of my house and hear seven cars playing it than hear that I did 900,000.” (Billboard)

With two solo projects already knocked out, Drizzy recently revealed beginning work on a third LP.

“I never save music, that’s one thing I never dude — because music, to me, is like a sketch book so I’ll do a drawing like Take Care and the whole album cycle is a drawing. That’s how I felt on that day. November 15th, I just turned the page over so now it’s a new day. I started writing last night. I started writing the intro to my next project last night. I found the sample and I started piecing it together the story, where I’m at in my life. Started piecing the drawing. I started that and flipped the page” (Wild 94.1)
