“Um Hmm” was so crazy. [In 2013], I was locked up for a few months for probation issues and I wrote that song in jail. It’s so crazy because I talk a lot of sh*t.
Everybody knows that I’m a jokester. When I pop it, I say, “Um hmm,” or somebody might be talking to me in the club and I can’t really talk and so I’ll say, “Um hmm, um hmm, um uhmm.”
It’s catchy but it’s natural. It’s me. Yo Gotti killed it. Tip killed it. We put it on the Hustle Gang mixtape.
It got a great response from that. I just came off tour with B.o.B. and Kevin Gates and that was the song that everybody liked the most.
