People would say, ‘Man, you look just like Turk,’ and he would say, ‘No, Turk look like me.’ We have the same name, ‘Tab Virgil’ and when I told him that I named my twin sons after us he said, ‘Ooooool ooh.’ [He] was always kind hearted to kids. Recently, he spoke to SOHH about appearing in Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz‘s “Used To” music video.

“Let me tell you what it was. 2 Chainz has been a fan of the Hot Boys. He’s from the South. The Hot Boys influenced a whole lot of people from the South that’s in hip-hop right now. 2 Chainz gave me a call. He called me, he called Juvie and he called Fresh and we all answered. We influenced him and through Wayne, it was a Hot Boys reunion without B.G. But we made sure we represented B.G. just like we represented him at the BMI Awards earlier this year.” (SOHH)

In August, Cash Money boss Birdman, former Big Tymer member Mannie Fresh, plus a slew of other notable Cash Money artists including Turk came together for a tribute-based BMI Awards ceremony.

Past and present Cash Money Records stars reunited in celebration of label founders Brian “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams at this year’s Broadcast Music, Inc.’s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards held in New York City’s Manhattan Center Thursday (Aug. 22). Ray J split hosting duties with BMI President and CEO Del Bryant and Vice President Catherine Brewton while Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Turk, Mack Maine and Mannie Fresh were all on hand to salute Birdman and Slim’s coveted BMI Icon honor, spotlighting their “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.” (BET)
