According to Gizzle, Turk may be headed to a halfway house facility soon.

“I talk to Turk all the time,” B.G. said in an interview. “He’s been down almost six years. He took 10 years on the gun charge. They dropped the charges of attempted murder on a police officer because it was friendly fire. They have a civil lawsuit with the police [officer’s family]. He’s supposed to be on his way to the halfway house. Turk’s a soldier. He’s handling it like a gangsta. He’s got smarter, wiser, he’s been reading. Six years in the feds … his chess game is on point. He’s been eating. He got about 10 albums [written]. He’s ready.” (MTV)

He was reportedly sentenced to 12 years behind bars five years ago.

Turk is currently serving a twelve year sentence for an array of charges after shooting a Tennessee police officer in 2004. Turk was later convicted in 2005 on Federal charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a fugitive from justice in possession of a firearm, and an unlawful user addicted to a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. Last month, Turk released a statement regarding the fatal shooting of his brother, Ronald Smith.

“I’m reaching out to all of you who have influence on the hip hop community. At around 3am this morning my younger brother Ronald Smith was found gunned down behind a Daquri shop in New Orleans on Manhattan St. My little brother and I were as close as brothers can be and it hurts me to lose him at such a young age, but as a man I must be strong. I have been in jail now for over 6yrs and there’s not much I can do. My mother is mourning over the loss of her youngest child and over the fact that there is no insurance or funds to arrange the proper burial. I am asking for you to get the word out and to also help financially in any way you can. Any donations can be sent to me at the Shelby County Jail by Western Union and for those who know me personally funds can be given directly to my mother Ms. Pamela Smith.” (Ozone Magazine)

Rapper Juvenile spoke with SOHH last year about the status of a Hot Boys reunion.

“I like this question, I like this question,” Juvie admitted. “I’ve been talking to Baby, man. I’ve talked to Baby, he’s real behind doing the Hot Boys album thing. He done came at me three times but the whole thing was and I wanna be truthful to everybody, it was me and him talking. Me and Wayne was cool. Me and B.G. was cool, all of us was cool but I really had to talk to Baby. We had to put everything out on the table and settle our differences and that was something we’d never done. And I can honestly say it’s been done now so y’all can definitely be looking forward to that album. It’s coming. It’s confirmed [laughs] I got a check already. I always say that when people ask like, ‘Man, they already paid me on the Hot Boys album,’ so you know, with me, I’m already in. It’s just a matter of everybody else being in. I don’t think it would be right if we left Mannie Fresh out. Don’t you think? He was the producer, he did all the music for Hot Boys, so we gotta have him involved, if he don’t do the whole album [then] he gotta do something on there.” (SOHH)
