All of the songs on my “Slow Motion” album have a special meaning to me but probably the one that has the most is a track called “Silence.”

I think a lot of people, if anybody ever lost anybody – and it doesn’t have to be through death, it could be through relationships or friends – I think “Silence” is that record that’s dedicated to that.

I think a lot of people are going through that. They’re going through a lot of sh*t and can relate to this record.

“Silence” is a special track. There’s a verse on there that’s dedicated to my homie Slow Motion, who passed away. The second verse is just the loss of a relationship. You don’t realize how special that person is to you and then when it’s too late, you don’t have that person and you need that person. Then you can reflect and be like, “D*mn, that person was special.”

You just drown in your own “Silence” and in your own misery.

I did that song in Georgia. I do most of all of my recording in Georgia.

I have a weird method to my music. I feel like I do my best music when I’m literally by myself. I have to be by myself. I can’t have anyone around. Nobody. It’s just me, by myself, with the pen.

That’s where my best sh*t comes from. Once I got the ideas, then I can go to the studio. But even when I get there, I just want it to be me, the producer and the engineer.

If you’re not working on the project and can’t contribute, I don’t even want you in the studio. That’s how “Silence” came together.

Check out “Silence”:
