Despite the romance speculation, Honey C denies having an intimate relationship with Freddy.

“What they don’t understand is that we were friends, we were just friends. Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship. That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship. I just want people to know that we were just friends, and we did everything for each other as friends.” (MTV)

She also confirms speculation of deleting a series of Twitter posts after believing his online pre-death comments were a prank.

The pintsize spitter was in disbelief and figured it was just an online hoax and sent a series of her own tweets, which she quickly deleted and wouldn’t detail in our interview. “I reacted in a way that I shouldn’t have and wasn’t proud of,” she said. “Of course I deleted my tweets, of course. It shouldn’t be there. The guy is gone, and that’s my friend.” (MTV)

Shortly after his death, Honey hopped on Twitter to defend her image amid accusations of having something to do with Freddy’s passing.

“To say I caused what happened is ignorance.. You know nothing about our friendship or the story, hate me if you feel.. We loved eachother..,” she tweeted January 6th.

“We were homies. We had a bond and a connection. For people to attack me acting like I made him do it is a shame.”

“Say it’s my fault, threaten me, whatever.. I knew him well enough to know he had other things happening.. I was there for him all the time.”

“If he was here, he’d wish for people to just respect him and who he was and what he did for all of us. He was a f*cking King.” (Honey Cocaine’s Twitter)

Following his reported suicide, Freddy’s family released a statement on their loss.

Freddy’s dad, Frederick Douglass Buhl, revealed his family’s despair on his personal Facebook page. “Our family is saddened beyond words; our loss is great; this tragedy is enormous and unforseen,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Jan. 5. “Not only our family, but the world has lost a talented, sensitive, brilliant young man who lit up our existence with his. We love him a great deal, and he will be sorely missed. We pray that God will now watch over him, and we ask all of you to include Frederick and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers.” (Hollywood Life)
