“He’s Willing To Share His Deepest Pain & His Deepest Hurt”

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we’ve created a “Hall of Fame” of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After Sha Stimuli revealed his fave five, author Pastor Jomo K. Johnson unveils his top picks.]

  • sevin.jpgSeven. His heart stands out the most. He’s willing to share his deepest pain, his deepest hurt and his music just bleeds pain. But it’s real emotions. He sings, he raps and I think he produces as well.

  • Chuck D of Public EnemyChuck D. With Chuck D, it was his message to speak up for the oppressed and those that are overlooked which motivated my decision to name him. That’s why he’s in my Top 5.

  • le-crae.jpgLeCrae. I named him because of his willingness to speak for Christ in his music. I’ve been listening to LeCrae for about three years. I don’t listen to him that much anymore but probably for about three years I’ve listened to him.

  • mike-c.jpgSouth Circle’s Mr. Mike. I’m putting him in my Top 5 list. The reason I chose him is because of his ability to speak on real and deep issues. He speaks on those issues that are taking place in the Southern culture and that’s refreshing.

  • rbx.jpgRBX. I’m going to have him in my list because he’s aggressive and real. He was also conscious of what’s going on in the hood.
