[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we've created a "Hall of Fame" of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After Hazel-E let out her fave five, producer Chase N. Cashe unloads his top choices.]
-
Lil Wayne. He’s eleven [in the SOHH Hip-Hop Hall of Fame list.]
-
Lupe Fiasco. He’s up there. I know he’s young but Lupe Fiasco has to go on my list. His first two albums were very, very good.
-
Andre 3000. I love Big Boi to death but I’m putting Andre 3000 in there.
-
T.I. I’ve got to put T.I. up there. T.I.’s legendary. He’s one of the most slept-on lyrical Southern artists out there and he’s put out quality albums up until he got locked up.
-
UGK. I’ve got to put Pimp C and Bun B in there. RIP to Pimp C. Pimp C and Bun B gave every n*gga every word, every game, every slang that’s still out right now other than E-40. If we’re talking about n*ggas with rap game lingo in the Southwest? It’s really three people. E-40, Bun B and Pimp C. If you’re talking about trill and coke price numbers, that was like E-40, Too Short and UGK. Those are like the real, real n*ggas.
