“He’s Never Ever Fallen Off. He’s A Real Spitter”

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we've created a "Hall of Fame" of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After Lil Wyte unwrapped his top spitters last week, producer M16 shoots out his fave five.]

Andre 3000Andre 3000. I’d put Andre in there for one. There’s no limit to his talent. He doesn’t have a limit and everything that he does is very creative. He doesn’t ever repeat himself in what he does. Overall, he’s a very talented individual.

p-lil-wayne.jpgLil Wayne. I’d put Lil Wayne in there for two. I like Wayne because of his grind. He’s really talented too but he’s never stopped since day one. Lil Wayne has been in here for well over a decade and he still hasn’t stopped. I respect that. He just kept growing with the game.

p-ugk.jpgUGK. I’d put UGK in there for three. They really set the bar for Southern music. The beat selection and content really let you know how it is around the way. That’s why I picked UGK.

p-drake.jpgDrake. He’s smart with what he does. He’s really good with trying to get his point across in the music. I respect artists like him because he knows what lanes he’s good in. He ain’t all over the place with his music. He picks a lane and sticks to it. He’s clever with his words and hooks, so I like him for that.

JadakissJadakiss. I really like Jadakiss, so he’s in there. Jada has never really missed a beat. I grew up listening to that stuff. Bar for bar, he’s always in and out with his lyrical content. He’s never ever fallen off. He’s a real spitter.
