“He’s Like Our Generation’s Jay-Z”

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we’ve created a “Hall of Fame” of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After Bobby V producer Vice Souletric Beats brought out his fave five, Conglomerate rapper Reek Da Villian offers up his top picks.]

  • JadakissJadakiss. When you say top five, I have to say Jadakiss. He’s in my top 5 because he’s been around for a minute and has always been a true talent and a lyrical guy and he’s still relevant.

  • p-fabolous.jpgFabolous. I’mma say Fab. I think Fabolous has been in the game for a long time and he’s been at a real lyrical level and has never came down from that.

  • Andre 3000Andre 3000.It’s alotta people out there, man. I know I’mma forget somebody. To me, I would say Andre 3000. He’s incredible. Me, I like artists that are different and can do anything. Andre is just one of those guys that just took rap to a whole ‘nother level and I respect that. From being able to body a hip hop beef and still spit the craziest rhyme ever then go on to do some funk or rock ‘n roll stuff music and still make it sound dope. I’m a fan of that. I like all different genres of music, I don’t just like rap.

  • Busta RhymesBusta Rhymes. I have to put Busta in there, too. Kinda like Andre, he has that longevity. He came in the game a while back and still here and he’s been able to morph into whatever stage the game was in. He can do that and still be relevant.

  • p-lil-wayne.jpgLil Wayne.

He’s been probably the most consistent rapper for the last few years. He’s kinda like our generations Jay-Z, and you also have to mention the empire he’s built with Young Money. He’s big and he’s also got two of the biggest rappers in the game and that’s Drake and Nicki.
