Despite Gucci’s imminent incarceration, Holiday voiced his confidence that the setback would not keep the Atlanta rapper from having new music released.

“It’s never a good feeling, man,” Holiday told SOHH. “You never wanna see your friends put in jail — but Gucci’s a strong dude. It’s not like he hasn’t been in the situation before. It’s unfortunate, but at the same time the system’s wack, man. I don’t know exactly all the details of it, but he’s my friend and I got files and files of music on him that people ain’t never heard so it’s nothing for me to get a call from him to put [more] music out.” (SOHH)

Appearing optimistic, Holiday also said he expects Gucci to never return to jail after this current stint.

“You don’t want nobody to be in jail, but I think this is the last time,” Holiday added. “I put Holiday Season 4 out and it had a song with Gucci, Shawty Lo and Alley Boy and another song with him called “My Block” with a new dude named Trouble and Waka [Flocka Flame]. There’s really about four or five songs [with Gucci] I threw out there that people have gravitated toward. So hopefully they can eat off that until we figure out the next move.” (SOHH)

Gucci’s latest incarceration originates from an incident that took place in Atlanta in which he pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle.

DeKalb County Solicitor-General Sherry Boston said Tuesday that Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct. A police report said Davis pushed 36-year-old Diana Graham out of his Hummer as it rolled down a suburban Atlanta street on Jan. 28. (Forbes)

Over the summer, Gucci opened up about how he spent his first few hours of freedom after a release stemming from a previous charge.

‘”I got out like a day ago. First thing I did, I just got my feet planted on the ground,” Gucci revealed in an interview. “Went back to the studio, banged out about five records. I got some great writing done, I got some new hits that people need to wait on…[In] ten years, hopefully I’ll still be touring, making music, doing something that I love. Right now, rapping is the thing that I love. Maybe then, I’ll have another passion.” (Karma Loop TV)
