Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane‘s attorney has come forward to clear the air on speculation surrounding an alleged July 11 prison release date.

According to lawyer Drew Findling, his client does not have a scheduled exit as of now.

“We do not know where that rumor came from, so that’s just Internet and social media fabrication. We have no idea where that release date came from because we’re still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date. … I can’t get into specifics, but we’re in the midst of corresponding with the Bureau of Prisons. I’m trying to iron out a specific release date for him, but that I can tell you that is not his release date. There’s nothing formal about that. It’s a product of social media.” (MTV)

Last weekend, radio personality Lil Bankhead penciled in July 11 as Gucci’s release on Instagram.

Guwop, a couple months.” (Music Times)

  1. this lawyer didn’t crush my hopes at ALL!! While I don’t wish prison on most people, I DO wish he would never drop another album or single. That’s just my personal preference. Like some people don’t like Wayne’s music, don’t like Jay’s music, don’t like Young Thug’s music, don’t like Drake’s music…..I don’t like Gucci’s music. Hell, then again, I don’t like Wayne’s, Thug’s or Drake’s music neither. Ha ha ha

  2. You don’t know street music period and you can’t relate to what he’s about. I don’t understand the ice cream tatt on his face but he raps about that real shit that real streets dudes can relate to. He’s been authentic since So Icy, big cat records etc. Gucci, BG, lil boosie, webbie, jeezy, pimp c, Pac,trae tha truth, z-ro, juve just to name a few are actually bout that life.

    • Who gives a shit. Real street dudes as you call em… End up in one or 2 places 90 percent time. Prison or the Grave. AND IM KEEPING IT REAL BY TELLING YOUR ASS THESE FACTS.

      • That’s some shit I already know but you’re not understanding what I’m saying. When you live your whole life a certain way it’s very difficult for individuals to change WHO they are. And for ACTUAL street motherfuckers who lived that life and are bout that life death or jail is something they already know is a possibility. FACTS!
