Gucci Mane Shocks W/ Unusual Rock Collabo: “He Ain’t The Averagest White Boy. He Got Swag”

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is proving to the world he is not afraid to try different things by announcing a joint track with veteran rock star Marilyn Manson.

According to Gucci, the collaborative effort came together around the time his new Spring Breakers flick hit theaters.

“That’s my boy man. We got the dopest record in the world, me and Marilyn. Me and him got one of the craziest records ever made,” Gucci said in an interview. “We made it whatever day Spring Breakers came out in Cali. He came to the sneak premiere, and after we did the red carpet and watched the movie, me and him went to the studio and made us a record. That’s the day that we met and began being friends. He’s cool as hell, I f*ck with him hard. He ain’t the averagest white boy. He got swag. Me and him together, he don’t get on my nerves. I can stomach being around him. He cool.” (The FADER)

Reports suggest Gucci’s admiration for the 44-year-old rocker dates back at least four years.

Gucci’s presumably been a fan of Manson since 2009, when he rapped Sitting in my mansion/ Listening to Marilyn Manson on “Overboard,” off The Movie Part 2. (Brick Squad rapper Rulet 1017 also rapped about Manson–Vacation in the Hamptons/ Rockstar Marilyn Manson–on this year’s “Really Ready” from Trap God 2, suggesting that Gucci might help Rulet 1017 with his verses as well.) Singer Kevin McCall credited Gucci for pairing him up with Marilyn last March.

“I’ve been doing a lot of work for Marilyn Manson,” says K-Mac. “I’ve been trying to venture out into that crowd. It’s real different. He’s such a visual genius. He’s gonna direct a couple of videos for me.” McCall even revealed their odd mutual connect. “I actually met him through Gucci Mane, which is weird and Gucci Mane is my big bro,” he said. “We do a lot of work together, so it’s so funny to meet such a rock icon through a trap dude. It just shows you the power of music. It could really unite people.” (VIBE)

Recently, the rocker showed support for Mane by donning a pro-Gucci shirt during his recent stint behind bars.

What an odd pair but it seems like Gucci Mane gets love from just about anyone. Marilyn Mansion wore a free Gucci Mane shirt the other day. (Hip Hop Morning)
