1. Georgia’s Most Hated

Gucci-Mane1

I can’t say I didn’t see this coming for Gucci Mane. Months after he dissed your favorite rapper (T.I., Young Jeezy, Nas, pick a rapper), Gucci probably experienced one of his all-time worst weeks ever. You can only flaunt and boast so much before things come to an end. Think about Scarface (the movie, not rapper, actually, both kinda), New Jack City, King of New York, you name it. All those riches and lavish living comes to a nasty end and that can’t be any more clear than Gucci Mane’s situation. He had his Twitter page hacked (allegedly), a beef sparked from the hacker, Waka Flocka Flame no longer being down with him, an arrest warrant being issued and well, you should know the rest. Let’s focus on the biggest incidents this week.

Rapper Gucci Mane was being held in jail on an assault charge after a fan told police the artist smashed a champagne bottle on his head in a downtown Atlanta nightclub. Fulton County Jail records show that Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was in custody early Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon. It was unclear if Davis has an attorney. (Huffington Post)

And before you can say, “Arrf?,” this happens…

gucci-mane-president-2012-11-02-300x300.jpgLegal Gavel

Rapper Gucci Mane was jailed in Georgia on Wednesday for allegedly hitting a fan in the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub earlier this month. A magistrate judge denied bond for Mane at his first court appearance on Wednesday, sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said. Mane did not enter a plea. His next hearing will be on April 10, Flanagan said. Mane’s attorney, Drew Findling, told Reuters he would appeal the denial of bond to a higher court. He said six witnesses interviewed by his office about what he described as a melee at the club did not pin blame on the rapper. “None of them said Gucci had anything to do with it,” Findling said. (Reuters)

So we’ve got one of the most embarrasing legal matters I can think of in recent memory. You’re really telling me Gucci is in jail because he decided to knock a SOLDIER over the head with a bottle? SMH. Like, where do they do that at? I get doggy wasn’t dressed up in his G.I. Joe gear and all, but smahing bottles on people’s heads in 2013? C’mon. So he’s behind bars and then he’s getting straight up destroyed by Waka:

Flocka isn’t buying it. “Nah, that Twitter wasn’t hacked because we had a conversation before that. Real aggressive words like, ‘N—a let’s get up, let’s do this,’ ” Waka said when he appeared on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday (March 27). Waka didn’t reveal the details of that “real aggressive” conversation and was baffled as to why Gucci would label him disloyal. “I don’t know. Honest to God truth, I don’t know because I’m the loyalist person you could ever see. I took on a man’s beef, risked my life, hung out the window, risked my freedom. I never backed in a corner,” he said, referencing his involvement in Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy’s beef. “To my knowledge, it can’t be nothing but jealously or something because there is nothing I did disloyal.” (MTV)

Things get even stickier because Gucci Mane is managed by Flocka’s mom Deb Antney. Even if the old friends manage to patch things up, Waka says he will never do another deal with Gucci or work with him in the studio. “It ain’t gonna never be no business, ever in life. No music or nothing,” he vowed. “I don’t feel nothing he say out his mouth. It ain’t real.” The “O Let’s Do It” rapper even referenced Gucci’s recent legal woes. On Wednesday, it was reported that Gucc turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest after he was accused of assaulting a fan. “He ain’t it, he’s bad vibes around me,” he said. “I greet fans; he punches fans. It’s a difference.” (MTV)

LOL! Dissing Gucci at a Dipset reunion show? C’mon, Waka, you’re nasty for that! LOL! So just take all of this into consideration. Gucci’s being forced to stay in jail for the next couple weeks, the only high-profile doggy in his corner dissing him all over the place and everyone thinking you’re tight because Selena Gomez wouldn’t let you smash? SMH. Gucci, it’s going to be a long road to recovery after this silliness. Take this time to think about your mistakes and come up with a new gameplan.

Death To Molly

2. Death To Molly

Rick-Ross-CCC

I never thought Molly could be wiped away in such a swift instance. It turns out Rick Ross proved me wrong by doing one thing to make it completely uncool to reference the drug, he made it into the new date rape pill. Ross, are you kidding me? There’s just some things you can’t do and rapping about putting some Molly into a girl’s drink and then smashing while she didn’t even know it? Huh!?

What do former Republican politician Todd Akin and current Miami rapper Rick Ross have in common? Rape flubs, apparently. Maybach Music mogul Ross is currently drowning in a torrent of negative press thanks to his date-rapey lyrics on the track “U.O.E.N.O.,” which was released on a mixtape from rapper Rocko back in February. The ill-advised portion of the song in question go a little something like this: “Put molly all in her champagne/She ain’t even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that/She ain’t even know it.” (Entertainment Weekly)

No need for Rap Genius on this one. Let’s try this together, y’all. “Put Molly all in her champagne.” Got it. “She ain’t even know it.” Translation: Rick Ross put some Molly into a female’s drink and she did not even know he did this. Got it. “I took her home and I enjoyed that. She ain’t even know it.” Got it. Translation: Rick Ross then proceeded to take a drugged up female, courtesy of the Molly she didn’t know was in her drink, back home to enjoy that. Maybe they just took a power nap? As you can imagine, the backlash was pretty widespread and I’m going to save everyone the task of seeing every post and going right to Ross’ “clarification.”

“I want to make sure this is clear,” Ross said in an interview. “Woman is the most precious gift known to man, you understand? It was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the word rape in my records. And as far as my camp, hip-hop don’t condone that, streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that, you understand me? I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me about the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.” (Q 93.3)

Waka Flocka Flame: Moment of the Week

3. Moment of the Week: Waka Flocka Turns Down Wanting To Smash Selena Gomez

WakaFlockaFlame_BenzAndABackpack

Pardon my words, but I have heard some truly dumb things in my life but nothing more stuuuuuupid than Waka Flocka Flame saying he would not tear down Selena Gomez. Yeah, she kinda looks like a Disney cartoon character, but she’s sexy, 20-years-old and ummm…..HOT? Oh yeah, something about bragging that you smashed Justin Bieber’s chick is kinda ill too. And oh yeah, isn’t this coming from the same doggy that flirted with child star “Topanga” from “Boy Meets World” a couple weeks ago? LOL. These comments seriously made me consider if Waka was drinking before answering. LOL.

And those wacky rumors that it was Spring Breakers star Selena Gomez who drove them apart? They’re just that — rumors. “She ain’t bad enough,” Waka said. “She fine as hell, but she ain’t bad enough. Ain’t no woman on earth that bad that can go between family members or friends. Especially not a little young girl.” (The Boom Box)

SMH…..once again, NO COMMENT.

Mrs. Butterworth: Spring Breakers Girls

4. Mrs. Butterworth: Spring Breakers Girls

spring_breakers_a_h

I’m not going to lie, I think the girls in Spring Breakers are hot. Granted, they kinda played out “real” Spanish chicks (sorry, Vanessa Hudgens + Selena Gomez < Tahiry José, Rosa Acosta) were not represented in there and where’s the lead Black actresses? I’m not going to lie, I have yet to actually peep the flick, so if there are some ill twists and surprises that might contradict what I just said, umm……..yeah, FAIL for me. LOL. But those issues aside, seeing Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez along with some other chicks in bikinis is smoking hot. Yeah, I’m weeks late on this, but with all this coverage, there’s no way they couldn’t be featured in here.

I need this movie on my laptop….immediately!

Rappers Say The Darndest Things

5. Rappers Say The Darndest Things

I’ve had it, too much rachetness went down this past week. LOL! Your favorite rappers really put themselves in very wack positions, especially French Montana saying he’s, out-of-nowhere, working with 5-0 Cent? SMH. That’s like Jay-Z just coming out and saying him and Cam’ron have a hot record dropping soon! LOL! Then there’s Chris Brown. I can’t knock him for trying to explain why he bugged out over $10, but c’mon. Just swallow the loss. And what about my favorite actor Wll Smith? You can’t claim ditching Django Unchained did not appeal to you b/c you would have had to play Django which he considered NOT the lead character? Does he even realize the flick is named after…..Django? LOL! C’mon! Too Short‘s my dog, but we’ve gotta crack some chuckles over him defending running like crazy from the police. Lastly, Mack Maine warning us of how much of a threat Drake is over the microphone? LOL!!!

1. French Montana

“Yeah, everything’s straight,” Montana said in an interview when asked if things were fine between him and 50. “We been making music, making music. Yeah, it’s good for hip-hop. I mean, at the end of the day, [Rick] Ross my brother. So I’m not going to play both sides of the fence, but you know where I stand at. So I’m not really, you know, we ain’t have no problem, we ain’t got no real beef, but you know where I stand at. You know what I’m saying? So let’s just keep it like that.”

2. Chris Brown

“Yes. Okay, so I can elaborate on this situation. By all means, I’m a great tipper. Ten dollars is not a problem, it’s a charity event, firs tof all. It was $5 parking at the place, he’s coming out to get the car but before we went in, I gave the man $100. We had two cars. It’s $5 parking. Okay, do the math. So when we came out he was like, ‘You know what? We need $20 for each car.’ I said, ‘Sir, I just gave you $100.’ So he was like, ‘No, no we need $10.’ So just started going around, seeing if he could get more money and I was like, ‘no,’ so by that time it was a situation. You just say me, ‘rahh rahh rahhh’ [in the video].”

3. Will Smith

will-smith-2013-03-26-300x300.jpgjamie-foxx-django-2013-01-19-300x300.jpg

When Quentin Tarantino’s western revenge-fantasy Django Unchained was first announced, casting rumors pegged Will Smith as the titular slave-turned-vigilante. But Smith, who teams with his son Jaden in this summer’s sci-fi epic After Earth, tells EW that he turned down the part because his character would’ve been second fiddle to the bounty hunter (played by Christoph Waltz) who teaches Django his trade . “Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead!” says the Men in Black star, whose departure opened the door for Jamie Foxx to play the role. Smith says that before he left the project, he even pleaded with Tarantino to let Django have a more central role in the story. “I was like, ‘No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!'” (Ironically, Waltz was considered a supporting actor during his Oscar-winning award season, while Jamie Foxx was promoted as the movie’s lead.) But no hard feelings: Smith was a big fan of the final product. “I thought it was brilliant,” he says. “Just not for me.”

4. Too Short

“I just ran all the way out to Miami, man,” Short said in an interview when jokingly told he might be running in the next Olympics Games. “I had to get the hell up out of LA. I only got one thing to say, man, if I would have hit that corner, y’all would have seen a whole different Short you’ve never seen. If I wouldn’t have tripped, you would have never seen me. They’d have had the helicopters out on the morning news — it’s one thing y’all don’t realize though. I was across the street from my house. I was about to run home.”

5. Mack Maine

mack-maine-2013-03-25-300x300.jpgchris-brown-2013-03-08-300x300.jpg

Mack Maine really got excited to talk about Drake’s new project. Yes, Aubrey took shots on the “5 AM in Toronto” record, and Mack said that’s just the beginning. “The worst thing you can do is get that dude mad because he creates music from his heart and off emotion too,” Mack told host Sway Calloway. “So when you get him mad … You saw what happened with the ‘5 AM in Toronto,’ and it’s more to follow. That dude is amazing, awesome.” Drake, who won the Best Rap Album Grammy for Take Care, has titled his third album Nothing Was the Same, and the ever-loyal Mack Maine said Drake has set the bar high. “Just know he won’t disappoint you,” Mack said. “He’s actually, if you can believe, he’s going to another level, taking it to another level. Like he said, ‘Tryna do like Lebron and win another one, tryna get another one.'”
