Gucci Mane Finally Gives Up, Turns Himself Over To Police

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is reportedly behind bars in Georgia after a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this month on an assault-related charge.

Details of Gucci’s legal woes surfaced online early Wednesday (March 27).

Rapper Gucci Mane was being held in jail on an assault charge after a fan told police the artist smashed a champagne bottle on his head in a downtown Atlanta nightclub. Fulton County Jail records show that Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was in custody early Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon. It was unclear if Davis has an attorney. (Huffington Post)

Additional reporting suggests Mane turned himself in to police rather than stay on the run.

Just yesterday, reports surfaced and claimed Gucci had even more legal problems headed his way.

According to WSBTV 2 in Atlanta, after it aired the story about the first assault, a second man, who asked to be identified as TJ, said Gucci, 33, assaulted him two nights after the initial incident. “I haven’t ever been so humiliated in my life and disrespected,” said the victim, who claimed that the “Spring Breakers” co-star punched him in the jaw in the early hours of March 18 in Philadelphia. “He punched me on the left side of my face, right here in the jaw, knocking off my glasses.” (MTV)

The initial arrest warrant was issued last week after Gucci allegedly attacked a soldier.

Atlanta police have issued an arrest warrant for a well-known rapper after a soldier said he was assaulted by him. The soldier told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri he was just looking to get a picture with Gucci Mane when the rapper attacked him. Photos show cuts to the soldier’s head after he said Radric Davis, whose stage name is Gucci Mane, hit him with a champagne bottle last Friday night. The soldier, who asked only to be called by his first name, James, told Viteri he asked a security guard in the VIP section of Harlem Nights on Courtland Street in Atlanta, if he could get a photo with the rapper.
