Atlanta rappers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy's past tensions may be squashed these days, however, fans should not expect the two former rap rivals to ever collaborate together.
While on speaking terms, Gucci said he cannot see himself rhyming alongside the Snowman.
“On the strength of [the fact that] anything could have happened between not just me and him [but] between our camps, we just came to a sit-down of just respecting the fact that somebody can get hurt, and it ain’t going to be us,” Gucci said explaining why they formally squashed their beef. “That’s what made us do that.” … But Mr. La Flare, who just dropped his Ferrari Boyz collaboration with Waka Flocka Flame, offered an “I don’t think so” when asked about the possibility of him and Jeezy creating music together again, adding, “We started the conversation, but I can’t see it happening.” (RapFix)
After calling a truce in late 2009, producer Drumma Boy weighed in with his reaction to the beef-ending talks.
“Man I’ve been wanting to see all of us just be on one page, all of us reppin’ one flag, all of us coming to together and putting all of this money together and locking it tight,” he said in an interview. “It’s a wrap from that point on. I mean, its always great to see two powerful brothers end some beef and come together to get more money. I mean imagine Jeezy and Gucci coming to your high school. Its all about the kids, its motivation and they are the number one motivators, so that’s what it is.” (Hip Hop Wired)
Back in 2009, Gucci spoke on making peace with the “Snowman.”
“I learned in the rap game, once you got heat people wanna stand next to you,” Gucci revealed in an interview with radio personality Big Boy. “Once I established myself as being a credible artist as someone who could make some money — then in that time, the people wanna bring something to the table…Before the conversation we had collaborated, we had been talking. And we kinda had a mutual agreement together. Both of us are so big and got so many people that wanna party with us, it’s kinda selfish to say we travel around the world — I knew me personally, I didn’t want that on my hands…We already collaborated on two songs, one is already out and one is debuting in a few weeks.” (“Big Boy’s Neighborhood”)
Both Jeezy and Gucci promised to move forward and end their beef during a phone interview with DJ Drama in December 2009.
“That’s what it is homie,” Jeezy said to Gucci, accepting the peace calling. “What’s understood ain’t gotta be said, man. We gonna do this for the city, so you keep your head up. Me and Dram gonna hold it down, bruh and that’s what it is. 100. That’s what it is homie — that’s what it is man, it’s back to business man. Back to the money, back to the music. Back to the streets. We’re back for the city man. Believe that. We got more work to do — by the way, you snuck me with that phone call homie, for real.” (Hot 107.9)
