Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has reportedly avoided a long, drawn out child support battle with an ex-girlfriend by coming to terms to a monthly payment agreement.
According to reports, Gucci will pay just over $2,000 a month for his son.
Rapper Gucci Mane is doing good by the woman he knocked up — agreeing to fork over $2,026 a month to help support his 4-year-old son … this according to new legal docs. Gucci — real name Radric Davis — stepped up to the plate after establishing he was the father, striking the child support agreement with his baby mama Sheena Evans in Georgia court. According to the docs, Gucci makes $24,908 a month. It was pretty amicable all around — both sides also agreed to let Sheena take primary physical custody … giving Gucci visitation as his schedule permits. (TMZ)
The rapper last made headlines in October when an Atlanta judge rejected his plea for an early jail release.
The bad news came in twos Friday for rapper Gucci Mane, aka Radric Davis, who learned he was being slapped with a civil suit minutes after a DeKalb County judge ruled against his attorney’s motion for reduced jail time. The woman identified Davis by the ice cream cone tattoo on the rapper’s face. Her attorney, B.J. Bernstein, said Friday Davis needs to be held accountable. “He thinks the rules don’t apply to him,” she said. Davis’ attorneys, seeking to get his six-month jail sentence cut in half Friday, offered to have the 31-year-old MC stage a concert on behalf of the DeKalb County Battered Women’s Shelter. But DeKalb State Court Judge Eleanor Ross was not moved, saying. “I don’t think it would be appropriate to let him out just because he’s a rapper.” (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
Earlier the same day, reports emerged online showing Gucci Mane’s intent to have his six-month sentence reduced.
Radric Davis, also known as rapper “Gucci Mane,” appeared in the State Court of DeKalb County hoping to reduce his sentence for pushing a woman out of his car on January 28, 2011. On September 13, 2011, Davis plead guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct, and disorderly conduct. The victim and her attorney, BJ Bernstein, was present in court and will have an announcement immediately following the proceedings. (CBS Atlanta)
The rapper’s close friend/producer DJ Holiday recently hit up SOHH and shared his take on the legal situation.
“It’s never a good feeling, man,” Holiday told SOHH. “You never wanna see your friends put in jail — but Gucci’s a strong dude. It’s not like he hasn’t been in the situation before. It’s unfortunate, but at the same time the system’s wack, man. I don’t know exactly all the details of it, but he’s my friend and I got files and files of music on him that people ain’t never heard so it’s nothing for me to get a call from him to put [more] music out.” (SOHH)
