According to Trae, the medical staff did not even attend to his bullet wound.

“The lady left me bleedin’ like two hours in the bed by myself, like nobody else came in there,” Trae said of a neglectful nurse when the Grand Hustle artist appeared alongside T.I. on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday. According to Trae, the hospital staff were concerned about the vast number of supporters who came to the hospital to check on the beloved rap figure. “It was blood all over the bed, they had to change the sheets, the mattress,” he recounted. Initially, Trae didn’t know how serious the shooting was. He was one of five people shot that night, three of whom died from their injuries and one of whom was paralyzed. “I didn’t find none of this out until Homicide came to come and take me away,” he said. “The way I came in the hospital with a hole in my back was the same way I left. I didn’t get no bandage, I ain’t get no stitches, they didn’t take the bullet out, none of that.” (MTV)

Days following the shooting, Trae spoke on the victims from the tragic June night.

“I’m alive though, so my pain is really with the families of those whose lives (were) lost, one of whom was a part of my ABN family,” Trae stated, referring to his Project ABN, a musical group and charity. “There are children that lost a parent that night and that’s the biggest tragedy.” The show had attracted a large crowd and several hundred people were in the parking lot when the shooting began, he tweeted. “I don’t know what started the shooting or who was targeted I just know that the crowd of people started moving in my direction and we were basically all sitting ducks at that point. A case of wrong place, wrong time.” (Houston Chronicle)

He initially hopped on Twitter to provide fans with a brief update.

“Sitting Here Thinking & Being Greatful To Be Livin… But Can’t explain Tha Pain Felt For Those Who Died #GodBlessTheDead …,” he tweeted June 21st.

“I done been through hell and back these last 3 years..& Thinking of Dinky Fighting for his last breath knowin nothin can be done… D*mn.” (Trae Tha Truth’s Twitter)

The rap veteran suffered injuries along with four other victims.

Five people were shot at a southwest Houston strip club and three of them died at the crime scene. Among the injured is rapper Trae Tha Truth, FOX 26 News has learned. The shooting victims who were killed were identified as two males and one female. Trae Tha Truth and another male were taken to hospitals; one of them was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital while the other was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and has since been released so that he can speak with Houston Police Department homicide detectives.
