West Coast rapper Game has taken the more positive side of analyzing album sales by saying his past retail success should allow him to focus primarily on making a well-crafted project.

Speaking on the new R.E.D. Album, Game said his focus was on the fans and not sales.

“A couple of my homies went home, took showers, came back with new clothes and I was still up in the studio, recording [songs],” Game said about making his new LP. “So that’s my dedication. I think after selling d*mn near 10-million albums and having platinum albums, I can’t lose sight of the dedication to the craft and my fans.” (VIBE)

Since its release a few weeks ago, his latest solo offering has sold over 150,000 copies.

Earlier this year, Game cited his forthcoming LP as album of the year worthy.

“The ‘R.E.D.’ album is going to remind everybody of what hip-hop is supposed to be in its prime,” says Game. “The ‘R.E.D.’ album will be the best album this year hands down. There’s nobody putting out an album this year that will even be able to compete with the skill level– the bar is gonna be set after this album drops. I guarantee it now from start to finish.” (Billboard)

Although his new LP is still in retail circulation, Game has already begun work on a fifth solo effort.

“The next album is gonna be Soundtrack to Chaos,” Game revealed in a video. “No features. None…It’s funny, my last album on Interscope. No features — nobody on the hook except us. No features. None. Zero. No Weezy, Jeezy, Drake. No singers, nothing. Just us. That’s it. That’s it. Album number five.Soundtrack to Chaos.” (YouTube)
