West Coast rapper Game recently discussed his relationship with Shyne and explained his loyalty to the former Bad Boy artist.
Despite never physically meeting Shyne, Game said he will always support him.
“I think we became brothers, so to speak, and we ain’t never even touched hands,” he explained in an interview. “That’s the power of music and hip-hop and the craft that we share, and it does that sometimes…Again, I ain’t never met Shyne in real life, but I swear to God, I’ll go toe-to-toe, back-to-back with this n*gga in a war, man. It’s his heart and how we vibe on the phone and the things we talk about. It never starts off, and never ends about music. It’s always about the check-up.” (Hip Hop DX)
He recently shared his thoughts on Shyne going after 50 Cent on a few diss records as of late.
“You just gotta give him a little room, a little space, let him breathe and I’m sure you’ll get the old Shyne back. That’s him man [with the beef], and I’m glad he can take that 50 Cent beef with him. I’m slowly but surely phasing it out, and I might poke a little fun here and there but for the most part I’m over it.” (VIBE)
Last November, Game said it was Shyne who persuaded him to fall back on rap beefs.
“I talked to him for about an hour,” Game revealed in an interview. “Just about his well-being and both of our next moves. What I thought he should do and he listened and held me on my thoughts and he gave me a lot of insight on my career and what he thought of my career from the several years while he’s been locked down. He’s the reason why I’m not ready to jump into beefs and controversy today because he kind of shed light on some different situations and it gave me a different perspective. Which is one that I respect being that he’s been behind those bars. So we just chopped it up about life and issues and each other, man.” (Complex)
The Black Wall Street member previously hinted at their conversation on Twitter last year.
“Just got off a long call wit my brother ‘SHYNE’ !,” Game wrote Monday (November 16). “Glad he home. he kicked sum much needed knowledge in my ear, so I’m off 2 a positive start.” (Game’s Twitter)
