West Coast rapper Game is changing his tune a couple years after beating up music rival 40 Glocc in a recorded fight by now claiming he acted in self-defense. #WhoDoYouBelieve
According to reports, Game has taken legal action in response to 40’s claims.
It’s bad enough The Game famously beat down 40 Glocc on video — but now he’s verbally slapping the guy around … claiming 40 is only suing him to extend his 15 minutes of fame, and soak up Game’s shine. 40 Glocc filed the lawsuit after Game humiliated him 2 years ago by beating the crap out of him, recording it, and posting it on YouTube. Now, Game says — in new docs obtained by TMZ — he was acting in self-defense during the fight and only started punching after 40 pulled a gun. 40 has claimed Game pulled a gun, though neither is seen with a firearm in the video. The rapper also said fame is a big reason why 40 went at him in court.
In the docs, Game throws a few jabs — for instance … he has Grammy nominations and a TV show, and 40 does not. He also point out his 1.1 million Twitter followers compared to 40 Glocc’s measly 53,000. Best of all … Game claims the whole lawsuit is part of Mr. Glocc’s “gangster agenda to profit from threats, intimidation and taunts” — said the guy who made 40 Glocc cower in fear during that infamous ass whoopin’. Despite the trend of one-time foes squashing beefs, Glocc recently said he could not imagine being down with the California rap star.
“There’s way more than that. We could never be friends. It’s f*ck him for life. He know how to stay away from my space. I stay away from his space. Or we clash, it’s gonna be like clash of the titans. There’s a lot of tension built there. I don’t know if it’s from this part or my part, but I advise myself to stay the f*ck away. ‘Cause I know the type of damage I do and I know how I act.” (XXL Mag)
Last year, 40 said Game released footage of him getting assaulted in summer 2012 to receive widespread attention.
“As far as the lawsuit, I looked at it as what he did. He didn’t do that as no street sh*t. I looked at it more of he did it as an entertainment purpose. So if it’s an entertainment purpose, ‘Hey, I’m an entertainer. I get paid to entertain.’ You made that fake a** movie, and made a fake a** edit. Lied about everything that took part, but you did it to assassinate me. And as an entertainer I’m like I get compensated. You know I do movies. I done did movies, films, TV, videos. So I get paid to entertain on that side of it. And at the same time I seen it as like if that was some real sh*t and it wasn’t entertainment purposes, you wouldn’t have recorded no sh*t like that and put it out for that because that’s like letting the authorities know.” (VLAD TV)
