According to reports, the Los Angeles Police Department is now investigating Game for battery along with the off-duty cop.

The Game picked the wrong guy to sock in the mouth during a basketball game … TMZ has learned his victim is an LAPD officer. Law enforcement sources tell us the guy who got into it with the rapper during the hoops game over the weekend is a rookie cop … who was off-duty at the time. (TMZ)

A Los Angeles judge recently delayed a ruling on Game’s legal war with a former nanny employed by him.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said he still needs information on what attempts Karen Monroe has made to get work and how much her therapy is costing. Monroe sued the 35-year-old rapper in July 2013 after he allegedly ranted about her on Instagram, accusing her of neglecting his children and describing her as a “very dangerous baby sitter.” Mitchell said he is unlikely to issue a seven-figure judgment against the entertainer. Back in December, Game caught a break by having a judgement delayed.

A judge today delayed issuing a default judgment against the rapper The Game, who is accused of defaming the former nanny of his children in a rant on Instagram. In what may be the first Instagram libel case, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff gave plaintiff Karen Monroe’s attorney until Feb. 24 to provide more documentation to support her therapy expenses and how she claims she lost income due to damage to her reputation. According to 2013 reports, the nanny went after Game’s head following publicized comments he made about her following termination.

In what might be a first, a celebrity is being taken to court for alleged defamation on Instagram, the popular photo-sharing social media forum. The lawsuit comes from a woman named Karen Monroe who says hip-hop superstar The Game hurt her reputation. (The Hollywood Reporter)

  1. What an a$$hole. That is what happens when you stereotype your own race. Game looked and was like “That some ni99a” but little did he know.

    • I have to say it’s shocking how black people stereotype their own kind. It happened to me today and I am still shock.

  2. So hitting an off duty officer playing a game is more serious than hitting just an average person out there? What are they above us off duty as well in the eyes of the law? If they got into it then it’s his fault as well, cop or not he probably said some stuff as well.

        • I mean if you go on Youtube there is footage of him getting mad on the court because the defender didn’t fall for his weak a$$ dribbles, and there was no foul commited.

        • That is my point the term “Thang” is up for interpretation. Do you think that the people on the court new he was a cop? I think not. And lets not forget Alvin Mack, and Raphael Perez.

          • Lol… can you imagine a plain clothes cop telling a uniform cop “Whoa I’m a cop, I’ll show you. Let me pull my thang outta my pocket.”?

            #DeadCop

          • You are talking semantics the bottom line from a legal perspective the term “thang” can be scrutinized. All a good lawyer needs is a descent, plausible argument.

          • Only he knows what he really meant, like I said he could have been talkin about his badge, I can tell you “I am goin to get my thang” you shoot me then we go to court and you say “Thang” means gun you’re lawyer will tell you to kop a plea. The law is extremely technical.

          • We’re not talking about court… We’re talking about why Game hit him.

And is the cop gonna commit purgery if he’s asked on the stand “What did you mean when you said ‘I got that thang in my bag'”?

          • And game has a problem with keeping his hands to himself I think Game has an inferiority complex.

          • How is a person commiting purgery when what is in question isn’t even clearly defined. Games problem is that he just saw a black male and thought of him as a “ni**a” but he did not know who he was. And yeah I am speaking hypothetically about the term “Thang” but in civil court it will be brought up. Now civil court is less technical then criminal so from that aspect it could be spun into the way that you are putting it.

          • If the cop gets put on the stand and gets asked “What did you mean when you said ‘I got that thang in my bag'”, what’s he gonna say? If he lies and says he meant his badge (when it wasn’t, or vice versa) that could be committing purgery, couldn’t it?

          • No because Thang is not defined as a weapon, you are thinking of it from the way the streets work. Thang could mean anything what soever. Like if the Feds got me on the phone sayin ” I am going to pick up 10 of them thangs” that is nowhere near enough to convict of drug trafficking unless they find definable evidence that thangs mean coke. That is why cases like what I am putting out take a while to make.

          • Like I said before the settlement will be higher because this guy is a cop. And he has to pay all his legal just like he is paying ol boys legal fees.

  3. Game secretly wants to go to jail for a year, he thinks it will reignite his career. Like when he pulled that gun out on the court.

  4. Well if the attack was unprovoked then Lame could be facing Felony Assault. Since this guy is a cop he could push for assault on a police officer, but he will not do that. Lame will just have to pay a settlement and put a cherry on top. This will more then likely cost Lame a cool Mill, just because that guy is a cop and probably 5 years probation.

  5. u gotta come join the real world if u think doing anything to a cop, judge, politician,or just a person of means is not gonna be more trouble than if u did it to the “average joe”,,a person could just be related to or know someone like that and your in deeper sh*t,,,come on man,,he is definitely in hotter water,,thats simple math
