West Coast rapper Game has spilled the beans on Rockstar's highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto V by announcing his return to the popular video game series.
While tight-lipped for the most part, Game admitted he has put in work on the upcoming title.
For those of you that remember “B-Dup” from “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” you may have realized that this character was voiced by rapper, “The Game.” On Nov. 5, “The Game” was interviewed by Studio 96, in which he revealed some interesting information regarding “GTA 5 ,” which is shown in the slide-show above. When asked if he would be appearing in the upcoming “GTA 5,” he confirmed that he has done work on the game with Rockstar. This confirms that we will definitely see at least one character return from “San Andreas” in “GTA 5.” (Examiner)
In 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Game plays the character “Mark ‘B-Dup’ Wayne.”
OG B-Dup recently (and suspiciously) moved out of his Ganton home and into Glen Park – Balla territory. Rumours suggest that he has drifted apart from gang banging and into “other activies.” Allegations of false imprisonment and kidnapping of friends persist. Often seen alongside Barry “Big Bear” Thorne, whom he has drugged up. B-Dup is voiced by Jayceon Taylor, who is nicknamed “The Game”. The Game was born into a life of gang-banging and hustling – his father being a Nutty Block Crip and his mother a Hoover Crippelette. He recalls seeing his parents preparing to do drive-by’s. Coincidentally, a fellow West Coast musician lost a case against Rockstar Games in relation to San Andreas last week.
An appellate judge ruled the performer didn’t have enough of a case. Game designers draw from a lot of sources. One of the sources Michael “Shagg” Washington, part of the group Cypress Hill, claimed Rockstar used in GTA: San Andreas was his own likeness. Washington claims he had a meeting in 2003 with game designers to talk about his life as a gangster, and even gave them a photograph. This week an appeals judge upheld the ruling saying Washington’s lawyers failed to prove the character of CJ was substantially based on any information Washington provided. “Washington has presented no evidence demonstrating that the plot or characters of GTA: San Andreas have any relevance to his life or his purported fame,” the judge wrote. A new GTA V screenshot hit the Internet this week.
In the latest GTA 5 game update, a brand new “Grand Theft Auto V” screenshot has surfaced online. The new image comes just a day ahead of the game being previewed in a new digital issue of Game Informer magazine, and a week ahead of a second game trailer. The shot reveals what appears to be a high-speed chase on the high seas of Los Santos. (Gather Technology)
