West Coast rapper Game can give a strong sigh of relief as new reports claim the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department will not pursue a criminal investigation against him.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday abruptly ended its investigation into rapper The Game less than a week after a message from his Twitter account jammed calls for hours at the Compton station. Sheriff’s officials noted that The Game’s decided to apologize for the incident. [Updated at 6:04 p.m.: Capt. After Game blamed a friend for exposing the department number on his Twitter page earlier this week, Captain Mike Parker said it could impact the investigation.
Capt. Mike Parker tells TMZ that doesn’t close this case just yet. He tells us, “We find the rapper’s alleged comments in news media reports and on Twitter interesting and relevant, including who he says is actually responsible. Capt. Parker wants Game to contact the Sheriff’s Department so they can sort this all out. Until then, Capt. Parker says, “The investigation continues.” (TMZ)
Reports of Game’s number-exposing tweet emerged last weekend.
The L.A. Sheriff’s Department on Friday opened a criminal investigation after the rapper The Game sent a tweet containing the number for the sheriff’s Compton station, prompting hundreds of calls that authorities said overwhelmed the emergency phone system and delayed emergency service. The telephone calls began pouring in about 5:20 p.m. after The Game encouraged his 580,000 followers that if they wanted an internship with him, they should call the phone number, said Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker. “This was beyond irresponsible,” Parker said. “The deputies’ ability to answer the phones and dispatch personnel to help these people in danger was significantly impeded.” (Los Angeles Times)
Following the news, Game hopped on Twitter and shared his input to the investigation.
“Yall can track a tweet down but cant solve murders ! Dat was an accident but maybe now yall can actually do yall job !!!! #iSpeak4ThePeople,” he tweeted August 12th.
