G.O.O.D. Music's Pusha T has provided an update 48 hours after Miami rapper Rick Ross made headlines for dodging gunfire and crashing a Rolls-Royce into a Fort Lauderdale building.
According to Pusha, Ricky Rozay is fine and just kicking back after nearly losing his life.
“I don’t wanna hear about that with anybody. I definitely hit him up like, ‘Yo just let me know you’re okay,’ ” Push told MTV news on Tuesday (January 29). “He was just like, ‘Yeah he’s just layin’ back.’ That was enough for me. … It’s tough out here as an artist and being in rap it’s like this is the only profession where you don’t really leave your core. You don’t really leave your upbringing. You don’t really leave that behind; you stay in it lyrically and so on and so forth. So it’s like you can’t really get out of it, you can’t really get away from it. I don’t care how much money you have.” (MTV)
This week, ex-drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross blamed the “Boss'” lack of street knowledge for landing him in his current predicament.
“I’m not surprised that it happened given recent ongoings, when someone doesn’t understand the street rules they get confused and incidents like this can take place,” he said. “I’m still dealing with ongoing litigation about something as basic as using my name and identity, that should have been dealt with properly a long time ago. We covered it in more depth in the Power of the Name Rick Ross piece.” “Freeway” Ricky Ross plans to take the rapper and Warner Bros. Records to court this August in the continuing fight over his name. He previously explained that the Maybach Music Group leader has “exploited and misused [his name] since he went to prison” and “made millions off [of it].” (HHDX)
G-Unit’s 50 Cent, another Ross foe, suggested the whole incident may have been staged.

Shortly after the crash, details on Ross’ female passenger surfaced online.
8:45 AM PT — Cops have now confirmed Ross was driving the Rolls-Royce at the time of the crash. The passenger was Shateria L. Moragne-el — who is reportedly dating the rapper. Cops say neither party suffered any injuries. The suspects fled from the scene before cops arrived on scene. (TMZ)
