Bad Boy Records' French Montana recently talked about being a father and why no matter how tough it might be on him, it is vital his son experiences some struggles in his life.

Despite being rich from hip-hop, Montana said he will not give his son a life of luxury.

Although he has the means to make a comfortable life for his 3-year-old son, Montana has no intention of babying him. “Kids who have everything grow up thinking that everybody owes them,” he says. “I want him to grow up like me. I want him to struggle a little so he knows how to be a man. I’ve got to leave him in the desert, and when he gets older, he’ll understand why his father left him like that.” (USA Today)

Last September, French spoke on caring for his son despite having issues with his ex-girlfriend.

“It happens to the best,” French said when he appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.” “As long as I take care of my family, make sure my son is good. I feel like that’s a weight off my shoulder, you know, I could sleep good,” he told “RapFix” host Sway Calloway about the split. “It’s just kinda like you’re moving and you’re not the same person, ’cause you’re so busy doing what you’re doing. You get conflicts.” (MTV)

Coincidentally, the rap star blamed fame for contributing to a split from Deen Kharbouch.

“Man, I couldn’t do it; that’s why we got separated,” French explains. “At first it was smooth, but then as much as people think that money changes you, it’s changing them around you. A person ain’t gonna treat you the same now that they think that you think you somebody.” (The Boom Box)

Deen previously hopped onto Twitter and blasted him for not caring about their family.

“@frenchmontana ur trying to use me to get a buzz. Your fans deserve to know the truth. They would be fans no more.,” she tweeted September 10th.

“@frenchmontana abandonment is NOT cool.. Family First!”

“@DaNYCGossipGirl @frenchmontana We have been married for 6 years and NOW he brings me up???”

“@frenchmontana THUGS at OUR door@”5:46 in the mornin”all that money over hereTHEYheard about it”security need security’wat about Wife&Son” (Deen Kharbouch’s Twitter)
