In French’s perspective, pushing out at least 200,000 copies when the LP drops this May is vital.

“May 21st,” French confirmed when asked about his album release date. “I’m trying to crack that big number when I drop. Man, I gotta crack at least 200 [thousand] or better. You never know though. You know what I’m saying? You never know though. It all comes down to the shipping. I don’t care [what’s come out in the past ten years].” (Sirius XM)

Montana recently promised his LP would be the greatest project to drop since 2003.

Rick Ross and [Diddy] are both executive-producing the album,” French said in an interview. “I feel it’s going to be a classic. I feel like it’s going to be the best album to come out in a decade. … The album of the decade because it’s just it. I heard everybody’s album and I’m a fan of everybody and I just don’t feel like nobody came out with an album like this.” (Rap-Up TV)

Last year, he talked about bringing New York hip-hop back to the forefront.

“It’s been so long for a New York artist to really [have an impact] that it seems like there’s been a dark cloud over New York and the East Coast,” Montana said in an interview. “It’s a blessing that me and other East Coast artists are finally getting our shine again. Artists like Meek Mills (who is from Philadelphia), myself…everybody. We just need more support, that’s all. A song like ‘Shot Caller’ is East Coast…it even has the Lords of the Underground sample from “Funky Child.” But it’s important that we make sure we also make music for everybody else like I did with “Choppa Choppa Down.” (VIBE)

After multiple setbacks, fans can finally expect to get their hands on the Bad Boy rapper’s debut this May.

French Montana has suffered yet another push back. The NY rapper’s debut album Excuse My French was originally scheduled for release in March but was later pushed back to April 16th. Today, the album which is a joint venture between Bad Boy, MMG and Interscope has been delayed yet again to May 21st. Will this be the final date? You may never know. (HHNM)
