Recently, French denied rumors about Drake using his “No Shopping” verse to get at rap rival Joe Budden.
“I don’t think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden,” Montana explained. “I don’t think we was in there thinking about anybody. I don’t think we ever went in the studio with negative energy, talking about somebody. We just work and have fun.” (MTV)
After the single premiered online in mid-July, Joey sent audio fire with his six-minute “Afraid” song aimed at Drake.
“I just feel like you broke a promise to me,” Joe raps. “Only hurt ’cause I thought you were being honest with me/So I’m gonna try to do this honorably/Without the sponsoring fee/What’s most alarming to me/This is emotional for you, robust such as the calm in me/Easy to put off notes in thug harmonies – we can go and grab the Blackberry with the scroll” (“Afraid”)
