Tagging along for the album journey will also be Free’s producer sidekick, Jake One.

“As of now, I’m currently working the last album I dropped,” Free said about the promotion behind The Stimulus Package. “It’s Freeway and Jake One. It’s real good hip-hop music, we’re getting a crazy response from everybody, everywhere. We’ve been doing a thousand shows — Right now, I’m cooking up a new album. It’s called Diamond in the Rough, which is gonna be bananas. I feel as though, what I got so far, this is the album that should have came after [my 2003 debut] Philadelphia Freeway. Like, it’s crazy. We got a bunch of joints, it’s bananas, trust me, when y’all hear it, you’re gonna go crazy. We about to drop a joint called ‘Beautiful Music’ which is produced by Jake One and something for the ‘net and for the streets, just to keep y’all covered while I’m cooking this up..What I’m doing with this project, it’s like I’m taking Jake out of his element a little bit, for the clubs, it’s gonna be bananas, y’all gonna love it…I got a couple of joints from my man Just Blaze on there and they’re bananas, we still cooking up. Me and Just are supposed to hook up sometime in September and do a bunch of joints, so look forward to that too. It’s gonna be crazy.” (Karma Loop TV)

In February, Free’s last album debuted on the sales chart.

Last spring, Free talked about life after his Roc-A-Fella days with over four years of being labelmate with Jay-Z.

I did my thing at The Roc, learned a lot over there so I feel as though it’s time to try my hand with the independent thing,” Free told television personality DJ Envy. “It’s crazy man, it feels real good… I still speak to everybody. I keep good contact with everybody, it’s all good with me man, we rocking… [In State Property,] everybody’s good. Hopefully, hopefully we’ll put [a State Property album] together. Shout-out to Peedi Crakk, he just came home from the joint, we’re working on his stuff. And we grinding, everybody’s grinding, trying to put a nice situation together for themselves. So hopefully we can come together after that.” (“Sucker Free”)

When recently asked what artists he would like to collaborate with, Free said Alicia Keys was at the top of his list.

“Alicia Keys. I actually just did an unofficial remix with her for ‘Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart’ with DJ Benja Styles. We put it on the Internet and it’s been getting a good response. She better get with it. We could make beautiful music together.” (Rap-Up)

No further album details have been revealed as of now.
