With State Property leader Beanie Sigel serving a two-year jail sentence, SOHH recently chopped it up with group member Freeway to find out where the crew stands now and what the future holds.

Despite Beans’ legal woes, Freeway said he feels SP has plenty of Sigel’s verses to last through his bid.

“We trying to get it together, man,” Freeway told SOHH. “We’ve basicaly been trying to get it together. Hopefully we can get some SP stuff popping and it’ll be good for hip-hop. We [were] just trying to get as much [music] in as we could before he [had] to go in. We want to have enough music so that you all won’t even miss him, it’ll feel like he’s still out here. That’s what we [were] trying to get done.” (SOHH)

Free also hinted at possible plans to drop another State Property album despite his longtime friend’s incarceration.

“We’re definitely going to keep working and the last time he had this situation where he had to go back in, we basically put everything on hold. But we’ve got to keep stuff moving, time waits for no man. So we’re definitely going to keep it going. Young Chris is working on a project he’s getting ready to drop, I’m dropping a mixtape, look for Diamond in the Rough in November, that’s my next full album. We’re just grinding. Hopefully we can come together and do some State Property stuff and hopefully we have enough Beans verses where we could do another State Property project.” (SOHH)

Recently, former Roc-A-Fella artist Memphis Bleek spoke on his estranged relationship with Sigel.

“The last time I spoke to Beans was probably three years ago, four years ago, and from what I know from that conversation, everything was cool. We still peoples, that’s my brother,” Bleek said in an interview. “But then as you know, he did a few interviews and things were said a little different. But I don’t take nothing personal, because at the end of the day, I know him personally so I know that wasn’t the real him speaking, so I don’t take it personally, you feel me? As for him recently getting locked up and all of that, I just feel it’s a shame. So much talent is being wasted. I feel bad for him, for real, because that’s my dude and I know how talented he is and I know the potential, what he possess, and it’s just going to waste.” (Montreality)

Although initially slated to begin a two-year jail sentence for a tax-related crime on September 12th, Beans had to start his bid immediately following a late August arrest.

“At this point, the Federal authorities will take him into custody and he’ll begin serving the sentence that he was going to start on September 12 anyway,” Sigel’s longtime attorney Fortunato N. Perri told XXL. “He had bail set on the new charges, but the Federal authorities have issued a detainer–a warrant, essentially–that will transfer him to Federal custody and he’ll start serving his sentence.” (XXL Mag)
