Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown recently opened up about her publicized court case involving a neighbor claiming she was flashed by the Ill Na Na, as well as her religious beliefs.
Along with discussing her recent legal victory, Foxy claims the judicial system is biased against her, comparing her 2007 year incarceration to actress Lindsay Lohan‘s run-ins with the law.
“The Foxy character and Inga Marchand are two different people,” Brown explained in an interview. “My fiancé calls me Inga. No one around me calls me Foxy. I go to church every Sunday. I go to Bible study every Friday night. I’m saved…The prosecutors just wanted my head — If Lindsay Lohan was black, she would have done two years, at least. Is there no equal standard?” (New York Post)
Foxy also pointed out how righteous of a lifestyle she has lived despite the negative media attention.
“I’ve never stabbed, hurt, killed, stolen, anything,” she says. “But I went to jail for a year. What is that? My pastor said to me the fact that I’m not living under a bridge as a crazy woman, talking to myself, is amazing.” (NY Post)
Last week, Brown won a court case after getting charged for mooning her Brooklyn neighbor in 2010.
A judge in Brooklyn has dropped charges that rapper Foxy Brown violated a court order by mooning her neighbor. Assistant District Attorney Robert Isdith opted to scrap the case after the neighbor, Irene Raymond, told prosecutors that she would not testify in the trial. “While the district attorney’s office has no doubt the defendant committed this crime, we have no other choice but to dismiss this case,” Isdith said in a statement. Following the move, Brown’s attorney Salvatore Strazzullo said he felt confident about winning the case if it had proceeded.
Salvatore Strazzullo, an attorney for Brown said he plans to sue the City, Police Department and Brooklyn D.A. for prosecuting his client maliciously. He contends that Raymond had to have been lying about the encounter because “[Brown] wasn’t wearing any underwear.” Raymond had claimed the raunchy rapper removed her panties when she mooned her. On September 24, 2010 Lindsay Lohan’s probation was revoked following a failed drug test. She spent part of the day in jail before being released on bail. A few days later she entered the Betty Ford Center, a drug and alcohol treatment center, where she remained on court order for three months until early January 2011.
