While she did not confirm the gossip, Ashanti hinted at Young Money being a possibility.

Is Ashanti the next Young Money Millionaire? The R&B diva stepped out toCash Money’s Pre-Grammy Party in West Hollywood over the weekend. But when asked about rumors that she may be joining Lil Wayne and his YMCMB family, she remained coy. “We’ll see,” she told Rap-Up TV on the red carpet. “Those are my peoples.” Ashanti is currently wrapping her fifth album Braveheart, due this summer, and is readying a new single. Last year, Weezy F. Baby revealed an interest in bringing Ashanti to his growing team.

In addition, R&B songbird Ashanti might join the YMCMB family, as well. “I don’t wanna step across any boundaries, but I think we’re working with Ashanti right now,” Wayne revealed. Ironically, ‘Shanti’s single ‘The Woman You Love’ features recent Cash Money signee Busta Rhymes. If this is true, Ashanti will be label mates with fellow singer Christina Milian who recently inked with Cash Money in early February. (Pop Crush)

The singer’s former Murder Inc. labelmate Lloyd previously admitted Wayne wanted him to join the Young Money umbrella.

Baby and Wayne were definitely the first people to reach out to me,” he revealed in an interview. “I talked to them about a deal. That’s who I thought I’d end up with in my heart. The problem is that Young Money/Cash Money is exclusive to Universal Motown. As you and I know, that’s where I did my last two albums. I wasn’t excited about going back. I tried to do a Young Money/Cash Money deal through another distributor, but it couldn’t be done. At the end of the day, I’m still family, though.” (MTV)

In fall 2012, R&B singer Christina Milian spoke on joining forces with YMCMB.

“Wayne just gets his artists, which is great. I have a very one-on-one business relationship with everybody from Mack [Maine] to Wayne. They’re just very involved in the project and as far as bringing the music, playing songs, just giving their input,” Milian revealed in an interview. “Other than make the album, I want to get the single ready. I have a great opportunity with ‘The Voice’ to perform my single by the time the season is over. So I’m trying to get something ready, whether it’s a video or a song. … That’s one thing that’s great about Wayne. He’s like, ‘Work with different producers, take your time, but at the same time, try new things. Don’t be stuck on one thing.'” (“Big Boy’s Neighborhood”)
