According to Bentley, record companies haven’t trusted his unique vision enough to release the album.

“A lot of artists support and love what I’m doing artistically. But the labels didn’t understand or believe. I went and played that record for, you name them, and I played it for them and pitched them my ideas. They looked at me like I was crazy and said it was impossible to get done…I had to give the game a phenomenal, historic moment,” Bentley said referring to his “Everybody” collaboration. “That was the first time Andre 3000 and Kanye had ever been on a record together. I had to let people know that I’m here, I’m working and this is going to happen. It was still G.O.O.D. music, but I had to put that out to secure distribution. Folks think that when you’re on TV, it should be easy. It’s not…I’m working on a mixtape. I didn’t want to. But I’m working on one so that I can get my art out there and give people something to ride to and understand what to expect from me. And I’ll be putting out a DVD and the record at the same time. They will get Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style this year…[Kanye] was trying to get me to come out the Hawaii last week. That’s where he’s recording. But my schedule wouldn’t permit. I’m going to try my best to get out there before February’s out.” (VIBE)

The singer is also known for being featured in various music videos.

Bentley has appeared in several music videos, such as Usher‘s “Yeah”, P. Diddy‘s “D.I.D.D.Y.” and “I Need A Girl (Part Two)”, Slum Village‘s “Selfish”, OutKast‘s “The Way You Move” and “Roses”, as well as UGK and Outkast’s “International Player’s Anthem”. He made a brief appearance in the music video for “Grammy Family”, by West, DJ Khaled, John Legend and Consequence. (Wikipedia)

He is reportedly still associated with Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music record label.

In 2003, he featured on the “Good Day, Good Sir” skit on The Love Below half of OutKast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. In 2005, he was featured on a remix of Kanye West’s “New Workout Plan” and is signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. Farnsworth Bentley released a song called “Laid Back” which was produced by Kanye West. (Net Glimse)

Bentley previously spoke with SOHH about his MTV series, “From G’s to Gents.”

“A lot of these guys, they’ve never put their resume together,” Bentley said. “It was really sad when they wrote their objectives. It’s going to be funny to some at the same time its like ‘Wow.’ I really believe that this show is going to be one of the truest windows into America that we have on television.” (SOHH)
